I have an 03, the dealer replaced my transmission for third gear grind/synchro problem and also threw in a new clutch under warranty bc he said the transmission caused the clutch to go out? This did not cost me on dime! (Thanks to Nissan of Cool Springs)

You probably don't want a Z as a first car. I've been driving for over ten years, and, believe me, it is more car than you think it is.
If you really insist on getting something sporty, I'd go with a slightly used new-generation Civic SI. Something like 170 HP, will get better gas mileage, will be more practical, and will be better on your insurance. Really, if you want a Z for your first car, and you drive it anywhere close to its limits, you are being a huge dumbass. You can't even carry your friends around in it.
If you're asking questions that are this elementary, you're really not ready for this car, especially in 6-MT form.
Not the answer you wanted to hear, but I know I'm not alone on this.

I had a 3-series Bimmer before, had 190hp but high torque.
Just go ez on the pedal as it is very sensitive.
If you like stick, go for it, just don't blast your music if you're still a newb. Actually i dont think u should be those types of ppl who blast music, I mean **** those only happen in civics, not in the Z.

I drive a 03 Track with 3rd gear synchro issue. I talked to my dealer in Ireland and he said I don't have any valid warranty because I brought the car from States and it was never serviced in EU. I obviously need to replace the tranny but don't like the idea of paying 2K + labor becouse my extanded warranty doesn't work here (as dealer says). Do you guys know if Nissan has worldwide warranty or just US ??
