2 Teens Dead in 350Z Crash
News update from channel 3 news. The driver was still on new license probation and should not have had passengers in the car. Connecticut does not allow 16 year old drivers to have passengers for 6 months. Apparently that law is not inforced very well. I asked a buddy if his kids (now 16 with learners permits) know if other kids disregard this law and they said yes, all the time.

Parents stop giving your kids everything. Make 'em earn it. That way you hopefully won't have to identify their bodies at the morgue.

Earn your car by buying it with your hard earned money and lets see how reckless you are with that 27k+. I got no love for spoiled brats. Get a JOB!!! to those who bought their own cars and saved their blood and sweat to get that nice car that they finally have, Congratulations, I have alot respect for you.

Says they were coming back from a birthday party....there may have been possible alcohol involved....Also the fact that the article mentions a hill that if driving to fast you go airborn. I could see " hey here comes that hill, lets see if me can get in the air". At 16 with a 350z I would like all of you to honestly say you wouldnt have done it...I can fess up and say I probably would have.
Since the tree hit the Z from the front windshield I could see how the kid inbetween the seats and the middle bar in the trunk could have lived..its quite a snug fit, Im not saying he wasnt lucky though.
For you guys that cant read and see that they mentioned it was a 350z..just look at the wreckage...if you own a Z you can obviously tell it is one. If the stock rims dont give it away I dont know what would, oh maybe the fact that the second paragraph clearly says "2003 NISSAN 350Z"..rocket science :O
I had an 87' mercury Cougar at 16...stupid f**kin parents give their kid a close to 300hp sports car...IDIOTS!!

I'm going to just take that advice that is quoted in the article.
"My mom always makes sure I wear my seatbelt and check my mirrors before I go," Sadowski said. "She doesn't let me speed."

I have to say, there are no doubt a few mature 16 year old kids who can handle these cars, but the problem I think lies in the peer pressure that arises when you have a passenger (in this case 2) egging you on. It's one thing for kids to think through the consequences when on their own, but definitely another when you're being encouraged to drive like an asshat by your friends.
It's in this regard that I thik experience comes into play: Not so much the driving aspect, but the ability to think for yourself. I'd always rather look like a granny driver in front of my friends than try a dumb stunt that could end up killing us all....but back when I was 16, I can't say I would have made the same choice.
"there is a slight rise in the road near where the crash occurred."
"We can't sit out on our back deck without people going airborne off the jump. It's really bad. I have friends that do it on purpose,"
I suspect his last words were "Watch this!"
followed by "Oh shyt!""
Some people just never learn!
My dumb *** Alabama country lovin father in-law would get the car airborne accelerating over this hill we'd pass on the way into town from his house. Usually with his entire family in the car. He's around 60 years old and from what I understand he's always done this for as long as his family could remembers. I think he's just been lucky not to crash or hit someone on the other side which is a residential area with lots of trees now!

There was a lot wrong with this whole scenario, but remember, now there are some parents that are going to wake up tomorrow with no children. I'm not sure there is much worse than a parent losing their child.
Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. If you have kids, give them an extra hug tonight.

I had a death wish when I was younger, and did some insanely stupid things. Needless to say I learned myself a very good lesson that night. Luckily I didn't kill myself or anyone else, and for that I am grateful. Not everyone gets so lucky.
The odd 18 and 19 year old can handle driving a sports car without being a complete idiot, but for the most part I agree with you guys on 16 year old's shouldnt be driving a car that fast, the maturity level and logic behind their driving just isn't there..
The loss of life is a tragedy. But you have to be one stupid **** to do what they did. A kid in the trunk....? Holy SH*T!!! I was 16 once but NEVER that stupid! Wow. Darwin award winner right there. And the parents...I dont care if the kid bought the car with his own money, if I ATTEMPTED to by a 300zx TT when I was 16 my parents would have laughed their asses off. I could hear my dad now..." I dont care if its your money, as long as you're living under this roof you will not own a 300ZX Twin Turbo." Parents...get a clue.
I hate to sound cold, but that's what you get. It was there time. Besides, now-a-days parents don't seem to have a good grip on their kids. The kids are far more disrespectful in this day and age and feel they can do what ever they want.
Why in the world would a parent buy a kid a 300hp vehicle? I see more and more parents buying their kids expensive, high powered cars.
Case in point. My brother in law knew a girl in high school who had parents that bought her a corvette and she wrecked it. Apparently, they bought her another sports car and she trashed that one too. Her parents actually bought her a third sports car and she wrecked that shortly after. Finally the insurance company said no more, she won't be insured unless it is a family car. Now here's some stupid parents and they should consider themselves lucky that their daughter didn't kill herself.
All I belive in is "KARMA". You can believe it or not, but what goes around comes around. Sometimes you pay for your stupidity with someone elses life.
