first off, hello everyone.

I am looking to buy a Z, and I was looking to get the opinion of people who already have one. My last car was a supercharged s2k w/ a hardtop etc. and going from that to a stock civic hatch just isn't fun anymore.

Anyways my options are...
07 enthusiast for 22k w/ 10k miles
06 enthusiast for 20k w/ 15-30k (or touring, whatever)

or just an 03-05 with low miles for cheaper

also, I'm assuming all years come with HIDs?


My question is...from 04-06, can you notice the increase of power, what about from 06-07? I am having a hard time deciding on the year, body wise i like them both, it's just the actual driving experience over a long period i'm worried about

oh yes, or should i just get an older track model....i know the difference between the models, but noticing a difference between them all is another thing. thanks in advance. i've seen some cheap 04's track editions around here too

if you do happen to check into the 06. make sure it doesn't have the oil consumption problem.

wasn't the 06 oil consumption problem fixed? either way, what year would you say is best? for example, if it's not a big jump from 04-06, i might as well just save my money and get an 04, but if an 06 is worth spending more...why not right?

no they didn't fix the oil consumption problem. a lot of 06's still have it. so just be careful. honestly... if you can find an 03 track with low miles. get it. that what i would get

06 if you can afford it. But 04s are good too since they addressed most of the problems from 03. The car can easily last 100k miles (i want to say more, but not many has pasted that mark yet) if you take care of it. I personally prefer torque over hp. Plus the lower redline keeps the MPG high.

thanks for your help everyone...i guess i'll keep reading and find out...i found an 07 enthu w/ 10k miles for 22k, which is a good price, but i'll keep looking, thanks again

I'd get the '07 since it has the HR engine and the slightly nicer interior. They're new engines are much smoother than the earlier DE's. However, it kindof depends on what your mod plans are. If you want to do a couple bolt-ons and pretty much enjoy it as is, get the newer engine. If you plan on going FI or doing major work, I would lean more towards getting an '04.5 or '05 non-revup.

That's a great deal on '07 though.

If your option includes 07's get them.

Better/more HP engine, Better interior, No Oil issues...the list goes on.

Plus it usually has lower miles.

only bad thing is recall on slave cylinder with the 07's but deffinately get the 07!!!

05's appear to have the fewest issues. Whatever you buy used have a mechanic you pay & trust inspect it.

Go to Anaheim Mitsubishi and ask them why their asking price is so low for a car that can be at most one year old. The 2007 models went on sale in January 2007. The cheapest MSRP an Enthusiast could have had is a bit more than $30,000. Dealerships are notorious for advertising their near-new used cars at prices that rival the original MSRP. Their price is not comparable to that of similar models on the market. I would investigate this thoroughly.
