Default sun damage repair?

I have an 03 Z and the aluminum panels on the steering wheel have bad sun damage for some reason. The clear coat is coming off and it looks horrible!

Has anyone else had this problem or know what I can do to fix it? Any good ideas would help.

Thanks

Get new replacement parts or good used condition parts. check some salvage yards although im sure they'd want to sell the whole wheel. Look into getting a aftermarket or nismo wheel?

nut up and buy the stock parts from www.mynismo.com i highly doubt those pieces cost much. otherwise, maybe getting carbon fiber overlays from evo-r might be a decent alternative.

Looks cool. I might get a new steering wheel and cf overlay in the future.

I am having the same problem, it looks like the clearcoating is peeling/scratching off. But mine is still under warranty so i'll take it in and see if they give me a new steering wheel.

i received a new steering wheel for the same exact reason. They'll test it for chemicals and replace it under warranty. That ***** like $500+ new and installed... i couldn't believe it when i saw the receipt. They will replace it though, good luck with things.

They replaced my wheel under warranty for the same thing, the guy at the Dealership tried to argue that it might have been a product I used for cleaning the car but in the end he agreed and did the change out for free.
