2007 Enthusiast doesn't have VDC, and Touring only has it on 6-speed coupes.

Traction Control will only cut engine throttle when it detects wheel spin, nothing more. I assume that's what you meant by LSD? Since LSD isn't going to do anything to help you except during acceleration.

damn damn damn. where in cali are you? i'm assuming LA.
i was at a friends house when the storm hit last saturday..driving home, less than 15 miles, was one of the scariest things i'd ever ever done, what with having just installed new wheels that morning, on which i wasn't yet used to driving. i kept imagining myself having to post a 'i wrecked my z' thread of my own
glad you're ok man, the z is crazy rigid and able when it comes to protecting the driver.

While I am happy that you emerged unscathed, I am sad for our collective insurance rates. This is why they are higher than almost all cars out there, especially the collision category. There probably aren't too many "I rolled my Corolla" posts on those forums.

However, this is why the Z is so much fun to drive: Things that can't bite you aren't much fun.

I don't understand these crashes....I live in the NW and drive in rain all the time with no VDC, no TCS.....never had an issue. Hell, I drove to work on a couple inches of snow yesterday. It wagged the tail a little here and there....nothing problematic. I chose to avoid the freeway to keep speeds down (and to avoid high speed gravel showers). I think the answer is.....drum roll please.......when conditions aren't ideal, slow down!

I'm glad you weren't hurt. Whether I understand the crash or not, I wouldn't want to see you get hurt.

It probably happen too fast for it to kick in and by the time it started you were bouncing and flipping end over end, kinda hard to read gauges if you're that busy.

Thank God you are ok, You can't drive a Z, if you no longer exist.

like most have said here, good you did not get hurt. The Z has a very strong cabin.

As for the car, I'm 99.9% sure your insurance is going to consider it a total lost. Once a vehicle has rolled over, because of safety reasons, it'll be a total lost....no doubt about it. GL

about the comment on how we all pay for high insurance rates because of accidents like these, is that even necessary?? It's a sports coupe, you'll pay high rates regardless.

You mentioned stock - but what tires specifically - do you recall? Nothing more important than that when it comes to traction... Michellin PS2 FTW!

If the car rolled it's a wrap. Once the car has been rolled structural integrity is shot. Hope it works out.

insurance companies are required to compensate a fair price based on the average current cash value of your car, and from my experience, I've seen two cases where it's true. From KBB, your car is worth about $28,500, so I would expect around there.
