Default Some dealer delivery news

A little dealer news... Spoke to my dealer today and he said a couple great sounding things:

1) My Z and one other will be in his first delivery (Rockville, MD -- Wash., DC area)

2) Last couple weeks Nissan was saying delivery in August. This week they changed it to July. He doesn't have an exact date and really couldn't guess whther it will be early/mid/late July. But hearing July sounds right nice!

I know others have said their dealers faxed a stock inventory sheet or something that showed their 350Zs on it. My dealer, unfortunately, said he doesn't have anything like that, and he doesn't know a port-of-entry date either.

But, encouraging news anyway!

I posted this on the Freshalloy site as well...I have a friend that ordered the Z as well and she got a call from her dealer that said her Touring Z would be available in 4 weeks. I don't know what's going on but could it be possible that Nissan is gonna suprise us with early shipments. With no final HP out this seems a little odd. Has this happened before where a dealer gives itself a 2-3 month cushion but delivers early. I hope so....but Everyone is stuck on August being the date and if it comes early a lot of us may be caught unprepared. I'll have to sell my Dodge Avenger at a moments notice...anythings possible guys...Lets keep our fingers crossed. IMO they will be here earlier than expected...

There was a post on one of the boards stating that the Track model would not be produced in the first run. It was later countered by someone whose dealer told them that their Track model would be in the first batch. I'm still trying to figure out Nissan's production sequence algorithm. ZISME said it would not be made public, so all we can do to deduce it is to get some data points from those who have heard from their dealers. I plan to contact mine in early to mid June. The salesman had no info on the shipments when I contacted him last month.

See this thread on zcar : http://www.zcar.com/forums/read.php?f=5&i=47185&t=46961

In my non-expert opinion, I think the differences b/t 350Z models are so minor that the only thing that would affect production runs is paint color. And if the Z is like the Vette, sounds like painting different colors in very small batches is not an issue.

Hi Steve,
Could you post the contact info for your dealer? I want to have my dealer contact him so he can learn how your dealer found out delivery times already. I am seriously jealous and want to know when mine will arrives.

Ok,
I talked with your dealer and it was a great feeling. He knew something, had dates and times, and could explain when the cars would arrive for each of his customers.....utopia.
So I called my dealer asked for the same information (I am also in the first allotment with my preorder) At first, no information, then I gave the contact name and location of your dealer who knew what was happening and all of a sudden it changed. He "promises" to call with my time and dates tomorrow. So, I guess I have to assume he means well but is inept in his profession.
If I do not get the times and dates, I will have a few questions as to why not.
Anyone else been able to get the delivery dates and times in an official format from nissan?
