is the track model worth it?
i'm very new to this thing and i had some questions because i'm in the process of buying a 350z. i definitely want to modify my car in the future, so is it worth it to buy the track model as opposed to the other models? i know what the differences are in the models, but is it beneficial? what would you guys do? i don't know if i make sense, but let me know what u guys think.

It def. depends on your intentions...
I got a track model about a month ago, I love it to death and do not regret paying the extra dough... I don't plan on doing many modifications though, I like it the way it is pretty much, and I plan on taking it to the track and using it for what it's made for...
If your planning on replacing the wheels and/or brakes, don't bother, just get an enthusiast and use the money you saved to get new s**t...

The track has the aero kit, very nice-looking forged wheels, and brembo brakes. If you're going to change the wheels anyway, you can get a couple grand for the track wheels, but it's not enough to pay for the added expense, so you'll probably be better off with an Enthusiast.

If your doing mods anyway, I'd go for the Enthusiast or Performance models. If you want the tire monitors & VDC go Performance. If not, Enthusiast.

if you want to mod the car..get a Performance or Enthu. (my only bias against the base is that it doesn't have Xenon lights). If you are like me and getting too old and lazy to mod cars..get a Track.

I say, go for the Touring model. You'll have best of the both world. Leather, 18 inch that's if you're getting a 6speed, offcourse Bose stereo, and Yes, tire pressure control. & opt aero kit. And in future if you wanna do any mods, you can start by adding Brembo or any other high performance brakes.

I've had the Track model for a month an a half and love it. The brakes alone are worth the price difference..but how about each wheel being 10 lbs lighter, a cool aero kit...I didn't want leather anyway and I heard the Bose system doesn't sound any better than the base stereo.
I am sort of undecided on the Enthusiast vs. Track debate: I realize that the Enthusiast makes more sense if one is inclined to add aftermarket wheels and brakes, but the prices for that stuff are somewhat like this:
4 wheel brake kit: ~$5000
nice set of 18" wheels: ~1500-3000+
new tires (which probably shouldn't be included because it seems the stock tires suck and should be replaced anyway): $800-1000+.
Yes, I do realize that 2 wheel brake kits are cheaper, but I am attempting a comparison between similar equipment.
That's a grand total of $7300-$9000, more or less, which is substantially more than the price difference between the Enthusiast and Track models. and doesn't even take into account the aerodynamics package, VDC, tire pressure monitors, etc. Nor does it take into account the lost warranty coverage on the brakes should you upgrade them.
Also, one must take into account that finding a 6 speed manual Enthusiast is just about impossible. I've tried searching with the NissanUSA site in Las Vegas and Henderson, NV; Northern CA; Flagstaff and Phoenix Az; and Colorado (just because I know those zip codes) and I have only found one Enthusiast model set up the way I would like, and it is about 400 miles away from where I live.
For comparison, the closest Track model set up right for me is about 40 miles away. The fact that here (So. CA), Track models aren't selling too well may make it easier to get a good deal on one; especially this time of year when the 2003s are about to be bumped out for the '04s. An Enthusiast would most likely have to be an '04 ordered at MSRP.
Note also that for me, the Performance model is out because it is like a Track without the really cool ****. I can't see spending around $1500 for wheels I find hideous (and would replace) and tire pressure monitors (which may not work with new wheels). The VDC would be the only meaningful upgrade over the Enthusiast. The Touring's out mostly because I live in an area that has wide temperature fluctuations and leather would be greatly undesirable. I also don't see spending about the same amount of money for a Track to get a leather'd Performance model with a shitty stereo that'll get ripped out anyway. Base? No thanks, I have to have cruise. My foot gets really heavy sometimes and I am not sure why. The cost of the cruise control is outweighed by the cost of potential speeding tickets.
