if your car was dirty how did you know that there was no scrathes there at first place... maybe some hater scratched it when you were parket in a store and you just never notice it until you had her washed....

let me guess that you took the car to one of those SELF WASH STATIONS?
# 1. how many other people do you think go there to wash there dirty cars.
#2. all that dirt from everyone else's car is stuck on the brush that you are now using to clean your car with.
#3. Your buddy was probably ecstatic and was rubbing the **** out of your z.
#4 what color is your car anyway?
Reason i sorta say this is because one time with my 87 white bmw i did that self station crap with my GF thinking it was a good time and in return i ended up scratching the **** outta my hood and roof with that damn brush. .NEVER AGIAN!!!!

To the OP
First, NEVER take your car to a self-serve or automatic wash. You have a good chance of scratching your paint, rims, breaking antennas, etc.
Second, if you do happen to be lazy again & not hand-wash:
-DIY
-Most people hold the pressure washer 2 inches away from the car to blast dirt off. That's a BIG no-no.
-Spray the foaming brush with the pressure washer first, getting most of the dirt & grime out BEFORE touching your car with it.
