Sponsor Issues

I just noticed they don't seem to be a sponsor .... ANYMORE? Was that a flash ad I got? Now I'm really wondering where I got the link from .... I was almost positive it was here. I have to reasearch now how I was hooked up with them.
Is UltraRev a Sponsor? If not, I can't get upset about a sponsor only a car vendor and that makes my statements incorrect I fear.
I think I found them in the classified claiming they were a new sponsor while searching for a good vendor and shifter. Doh .... Now I'll have to search again... how did I get there?

I can see short shifters are hit or miss.

Some would only use a B & M some wouldn't. However, it's like I suspected it's looks like they are made by the same guy. That would explain why it looked like my first shifter off eBay. Doh, double doh again.
So maybe it depends on the individual car or version of our trans?
NISMO was even talked down. Heck I don't need one. I just liked the super short throw of it all. I can shift fast enough.
Dead Thread - Thanks to those that replied.....

First of all ---used is used. Its either Never been used or used. Rest that Case
Performance preferences/mods all have Positives and Negatives. Thats a given. Light Flywheels are noisier, most everyone knows that but light Flywheels increase performance.
I wont go through every mod and point out the Pluses and Minuses. Research and learn from experience

In my case, experience told me the B & M shifter shouldn't have been noisier and that most respectable retailer will take back an item if it's within the first 30 days. There was a 50/50% split on the noise for the stock shift **** on reasearch. I can change the ****. However, for the Z this wasn't the case.
I'll admit, I should have read the fine print... That one is on me. I guess I got lazy. I have have many other vendors take back shifter(s) without any issue because of noise, positioning or even cost. Personally, This vendor will not get any more of my business.
Edit - Calling B & M because I have never seen this on any other B & M product I've purchased in the past for other sports cars or trucks for that matter. I think it's design / my unit is bad. I'll post up their response. Man, they have a long wait on their service line though.
I love this statement - "B&M Racing & Performance Products welcomes comments regarding its products and services. However, B&M Racing & Performance Products's policy is not to accept or consider creative ideas, suggestions, or materials other than those it has specifically requested." stupid fine print ... Who thinks up this stuff? Lawyers ?
OK, so B & M site doesn't have the wording "Fully isolated design" as there KEY FEATURES on there site but, the layout and all of the page is just like the Vendors and they had it added in we guess. Also, B & M says it truely should have a nylon pivot ball not a brass one like I have. That's the sound I think I'm getting, brass to metal vibration. There's a c-clip to hold the pivot in place and it rubs against that brass ball, perhaps that is it. I'm now wondering if the someone in the vendor's chain is buying a cheaper version off eBay like I have and packaging it as a B & M. It looks almost identical to the one off eBay that I bought; brass pivot ball and all. Maybe the clip is a little different and the mounting screws ... but, other than that .... it looks the same. Oh, did I mention I was a quality mechanical/electrical inspector for 6 years @ SONY a while back. B & M is really interested in this vendor now and their distribution chain. They did say that their QC wants a look at it and that maybe the vendor they use to build these did a mod on them without their approval. They said they only spot check or sample test these from time to time. Well see if it's talk or what. Anyways, B & M gave me a RMA for return and will replace it with the next run of these parts. That's run is in about a week. So, in about two to three weeks I'll have more to post. I hope it truely is a materials issue because I'd love to have this Z shift as nicely as my Firebird does with it's B & M shifter. ;-) Happier now ....
If they can't figure it out, I will ... he, he, he... I'm determined now to "isolate" (pun intended) this problem and come up with a quiet shifter that has the nice crisp shifts these shifter have.

i had a B&M short shifter in my *gulp* cavalier Z24 and love it. when i got the Z, it was one of the first things I was going to do....then i searched on here and saw all the bad press that thing got, so I just left mine stock. But I agree with Dave, its the manufacturer, not the sponsors fault.

Your vendor should go to bat for you with the Manufacturer. He is the one with the clout with B & M as he buys a lot of their products. If the vendor refuses to help you thru B & M then out with the name of the vendor. Maybe the vendor shouldn't sell the short shifter to Z owners without some warning that they might expect noise and vibration.

It apparently isn't built to their specs.
If the part isn't as publish for them to take the part back.
I think that's fair.

Yes, this about what I'm talking about. Especially from a company that has a stated million mile warranty on their product. I know sounds do not = million mile warrantee. You'd figure they would back their product better than this.
You can't tell me that they can't make a quiet shifter. Because they do and I own three of them FROM B & M. But, really who is going to buy this thing if it's noisier than heck. It doesn't state it's for racing or that it could be possibily noisier than stock. Just that it's a shorter shifter. So, if your reasearch was based on their website or the vendors you wouldn't expect anything but a more precise and shorter shifter. Once again, just like the other three shifter I have presently. I think over my lifetime I've bought 6-7 B & M shifters and never had these types of problem. You could even say I am a B & M advocate. But, that is changing fast now.
No worries, I'll make it right and if that means I have to fix it I will. Then maybe I can market it to the Z community. However, I won't promise it's not going to be noiser. I won't say anything about that at all. j/k
