Hey, dude. My apologies. Didn't mean to ring your ear or anything. But I am glad you're okay.

great to hear you owning up to it, we all make mistakes once in a while most of the people on this board are to good at driving for the accident to have ever been thier fault even when it is their second or third one

Thank you all. You're a good group of guys let me tell you.

Most would not think this accident is a big deal at all, given that there are many threads about complete wrecks on this forum, but for me it shook me up. If you know me personally, you will know that I am very particular about maintaining my car, and love learning about the Z, and cars in general.

I hope to get right back behind the wheel with a new perspective and respect for it's potential and mother nature!

By the way, thanks for the kind words LuvZcar!

Just for the heck of it, I figured I'd just say something about the young guys out there with Zs. I am 20 and have been driving the Z since I was 16. People have always told me I am mature for my age, and I pride myself in receiving complements like that. On the other hand, I am well aware of the extreme immaturity and irresponsibility of people my age (especially guys) when it comes to such things as driving, behavior while drunk, etc. It's embarrassing. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there are exceptions to what is "typical", such as myself and my friends, who drive safe and smart despite having fast cars, but tend to sometimes get caught up in a bad situation or get a little too friendly with the gas pedal while behind the wheel. On the other hand, I have met my fair share of kids with fast cars who are just generally immature who drive crazy all the time. Just think twice before labeling an injured or dead teen or individual in their early 20s as immature, or say "he should never have a car like that" because all it takes is one daring act to make an otherwise good/responsible person look like an irresponsible delinquent.

^^ Well stated… my compliments on a thoughtful message (I am sincere saying this).

I’m repeating myself, but your unfortunate incident was simply because your car was ill-equipped for the circumstances. When you drive in near/below-freezing conditions, you need adequate tires. That’s especially true in the case of a powerful rear-wheel drive car with a short wheel-base.

That sucks man. Same thing happened to me on the road at the same exact speed. I was on Central's campus and it was late but the tires were cold. Same gear...same speed around a small turn. The rear just whipped out on me scaring the **** out of me. How i made it around the bend with out hitting the curb I don't know...I pulled a full 360 and slid easily for 65 feet. Thank god no one was in the other lane. Where in CT did this happen to you?

Don't worry it happens to the best of us, I was searching for my planner the other day and ended up in the dirt heading straight for a pole, barely saved it. Anyways, glad to hear you're ok

Blackfairlady,

That was my car on the pictures and it was about $350 or so to fix it. I didn't bend anything luckily except that rod. Since then, I've changed from the stock tires and am much better about driving after the rain. Good luck!

Dude I am glad you are OK,

And for mistakes ... yes we all, make it but we learn also....

splly when you love your ride so much, even a scratch will hurt you ....

as for my experience/ learning .... I learned something yesterday.. i was driving from big sur on high way one .... This car handles the road so well that ... you just zip past every one ... i was trying to over take 3 cars on an uphill...... and suddenly I saw a beam of light... i immediately came back to my lane .... Else it would be a disaster.... damm i was soooooooo stupid..... Thanks to good and intelligent drivers whom I was trying to overtake ... they gave me space immediately....... WELL lesson learned ..... wont do it again .... I m still learning ........

I will take all the criticism happily ... as this is what I should learn this way or hard way...........

But still my friend donn worry every thing will be fine..... so donn feel bad ...

The on-ramp onto 395 N in Waterford.

The crap load of I-95 traffic merging onto 395 conveniently came over the hill's apex and laughed at me when I was sitting on the side of the road on their way to the casino after this all happened.

Thanks! I'm glad everything worked out well. From what I could tell when it was on the flat-bed there are two arms bent. The one you replaced and I think the trailing arm? I will officially find out tomorrow when the mechanic looks at it. I will be changing from the stock tires, as well.

Here is the thread I started trying to narrow down what I want to get this week:

Thanks bud, I really appreciate it. I will keep you guys posted on the outcome.

Please don't try to overtake cars on up-hills again! Or ever? Unless they're going 10 Don't need you in the news!
