Default New 1:18 AUTOart diecast Super GT test car

A huge annual toy fair was held last week in Germany. The AUTOart booth featured (finally) a 2005 Super GT test car. Slightly updated from the long-sold-out-and-now-impossible-to-find 2004 version. Still no opening parts, but hopefully available later this year for about $70.

Autoart's "Motorsport" division is strange. They started it so that they can get cars quickly to the market; the penalty is no opening parts. They also don't seem to get to the market any faster than their normal racing division. That said, I've heard it's almost impossible for them to get any kind of information or pictures on these race cars, so these are the closest things you can get.

There's a lot of their 2004 cars (along w/ other Super GT and JGTC cars) on ebay. But in general I'd rather wait for Minichamps to release their version of a car (huge difference in Minichamp's 996 GT3 RSR and Autoart's, which sucked, frankly). Minichamp's M3 GTR is awesome and actually opens

Do you know if the IMSA Performance GT3 RSR opens? Or anything else about it?

Amazing detail on those diecast models I must say. Wouldn't mind owning one.

This is a 997, as you probably noticed. This will be the first 997 RSR with full race livery. It's like the presentation version that AUTOart released last year. Yes, it opens. Pics of the presentation version at ...

Me too. So far, only rumors, though.

I like the fact that IMSA will be the first one but I wish there was a little more detail. It reminds me of my 2004 RSR which I wasn't really impressed with.

Any news with Minichamps?

Word, me too. My dad and I collect diecast models, and I've got a few autoarts: Xanavi Z, a V8 Vantage and Porsche CGT. Love their stuff.

Although I have to say the Ferrari 375 plus model my dad has by BBR is a few cuts above autoart. That thing is gorgeous.
