Default Checking service history....

I am curious to know what the dealership has serviced on my 350z before I bought it. How do I go about checking this? Will I be able to go to any Nissan dealership or do I have to the one that did all the work?

The service department will be able to help with some information such as service bulletins.

I actually went through this. I went to my local Nissan dealership with my VIN number a couple months after I purchased my 2003 Z because I wanted to know if the transmission had been replaced or not. I went into the parts department and somehow ran right into the lady who was in charge of the department. I asked her nicely and told her my reason and she actually went all the way back from the day my car came into the dealership which I found out was a couple states away. She went through and printed off everything the dealership had done for my car from the past owners. Which was great because I found out I was able to get my tranny replaced under warranty. However she did tell me afterwards that most people will not do this for just anyone. So be real nice and hope that they will help you out. Best of luck.

You have to find out which dealership your car got service done at if any, dealerships are not connected on a network unless its a recall item, so basically any work done on your car will only be known by the dealership who did the work. I work for a nissan dealer and they can't look up your history from any work done at a different dealer, it's the same with Ford, Jeep, etc...we can only look at what recall items have been done, and sometimes even that doesn't show up. We can look at your build date, your original dealer, and even what accessories and what not your car came with but thats about it.

Not always true, sometimes it doesn't show up in the system, the online systems always suck though.
