The G sedan only weighs around 3300-3400lb. It doesn't weigh that much.
The driver is always a crap shoot. At these events, someone with a stock Miata could pass someone else with a 500rwhp Z32TT. There are some really good Z32TT trackers that were at the event, but I'm sure they were in the most aggressive group. I forget if that was blue? Regardless, track, car, driver, all play equally as-important factors. I've had people approach me at track events (driving our stock Z33 ZR with sticky tires, sway bars, and Brembos) and ask how much the TT kit cost!

word. LOL at G35 SEDAN... maybe a G35 coupe with some bolt ons, a nice tune, super sticky tires and light wheels, and every suspension mod there is could keep up with a Z32 with 400-450 WHP on a track...

How about THIS G35 Sedan?

BTW, it's has a LOT more to do with driver than power.

whats done to it? you made it sound like all you had was suspension and you were taking out Z32's with well over 400 WHP, which would NOT happen.

yes, and a stock suspension anything on a racetrack will not be as fast as a track prepped car with full handling and braking.

as I said, it's a ridiculous assertion. It comes down to drivers in almost any case where the stock suspension car would win and then it is not what anyone was comparing. it's a variable you cannot quantify.

The guy I passed I know personally as a friend. He was very surprised that I passed him and a few others on the track. They even discussed it on TT.net.

TMS doesn't count since they had it locked down to 55 mph. But again, the Z32 can not handle as good as the 350z or G35. It is a plain fact.

he didnt make it sound like his car was "track prepped" sounded to me like all he was saying was... i have a heavy *** G sedan with some coilovers and i can totally take out Z32 TT's with over 400 WHP on a track. in which he would be horribly wrong.

At that event there was Green, Blue, yellow, Red and White. Green = Novice, Blue next step up, yellow = Advanced, Red = top of them all and white is instructors.

lol, phrased that way, I agree. the brakes could not handle two hard laps on a sedan.

You have no clue wtf you are talking about. The G35 Sedan actually handles BETTER than the Coupe due to weight and length. It is more stable and handles just as good. Many tests showed the Sedan faster than the coupe.

HP doesn't mean JACK on some tracks like MSR. It's all about how the car handles the turns.

Try again.....Coupes has always weighed about 100lb more than the Sedan. Look at driver.

Funny, mine took 20 minute sessions and I smoked the fluid in the brakes, but they never failed. I had ATE blue, and Hawk pads at the ZCON though, first time I went to MSR in that car I had stock setup and it still never failed. It had 12.8" rotors up front with dual piston calipers stock.

Which group you were in? From the dots I see on my car, it looks like I was in RED, but a lot of my buds were in green and yellow. If you go to MSR on a routine basis, you may know (of) a red Z32TT (TT conversion) and a yellow NA recently converted TT, as well as the SPL Z32TT.

Was in yellow at first, moved up to Red later.

SPLs Z32 is out of comission at the moment. Engine problems. I know Sean personally. :P

Sean is my Z32/Z33 buddy.
As I'm sure you could tell, I wasn't doubting the ability of the Z33 platform. I absolutely love tracking our Z33. The power of my Z32 is a hoot on a HP course like Laguna Seca, but only the front stretch of MSR really allowed me to open her up. The entire track was new to me - thankfully I had a few of the veterans to follow for the first few laps.

Yea, MSR front stretch was the only place too. I hit 4th on that part of the track, but after a bit learned to just let it hit the limiter and leave it. So that was around 100 mph somewhere.
