the frequency of the human voice is no where near the frequency of the transmitter. Cell phones can only interpret certain frequencies (btw 0-22khz is the audible range of most adults). The cell phone doesnt even transmit your real voice.

ok. Bandwidth of the cellphone for AUDIO is about 4khz. Audible noise for humans ranges from 0hz to 22-24khz max. The cell phone samples your voice, maps your voice to a pre saved default voice and then transmits. It does it at a rate fast enough to where the human ear cannot tell the difference.
The cell phone is not designed to transmit data/voice/audio/signals what have you over a certain frequency < 22khz.
Your remote operates at high frequencies. I can almost guarantee that your key fob operates at a frequency greater then 22khz. It is out of range on the cell phones audio receivers bandwidth.
It doesnt work! The frequency of the receiver cell phone's microphone would have to be able to output the signal. It doesnt. It wont.

Phone @ my house that my Uncle held my remote to wasn't a cell phone.
It's one of those wireless phones that sits in a charging base. It sent signal & unlocked my door!

Tomorrow I will go few miles away from my house & see it it works again? Thanks for tip.

I have a universal remote that can be updated over the phone. you tell them the model number of the device and they play a sound similar to a fax machine and it updates the remote. I thought it was the craziest thing. I believe it could work.
edit: o ya it had to be a regular land line

This thread is for people who never heard & value this info.
If u know of this? would be nice if you kept comments to yourself.
Last thing we need is another thread of smart a** comments.
This works 100% as I tried it on my car.
Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end.Your car will unlock.Saves someone from having to
drive your keys to you.Distance is no object. You could be hundreds
of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote'
for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

typing your pin in backwards at the ATM silently notifies the police too.
