Default Locking Keys In Car?

I have never heard of this & I've been around the block few times!
This thread is for people who never heard & value this info.
If u know of this? would be nice if you kept comments to yourself.
Last thing we need is another thread of smart a** comments.

This works 100% as I tried it on my car.

Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end.Your car will unlock.Saves someone from having to
drive your keys to you.Distance is no object. You could be hundreds
of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote'
for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

how bout no!

the frequency of the human voice is no where near the frequency of the transmitter. Cell phones can only interpret certain frequencies (btw 0-22khz is the audible range of most adults). The cell phone doesnt even transmit your real voice.

I hate to break it to the naysayers (I was one of them), but Autoblog recently tried this out and it DOES work for certain cars. I'll try to find the video and post it.

I would guess most remotes use a RF that can't be duplicated that way, someone try this out with a Z and let us know.

okay i live in an apartment complex and my car is parked quite a bit away ,like 3-4 blocks, and had my girlfriend from my room push the button while i held the phone at my car (even trying different areas like the trunk and both doors) and it did not work. i even did the same to her rav4 that was across the street and it too did not work. i think i can safetly say mythbusted.

as for the video, i sometimes think that if you push the button while pointing the remote at your chin sometimes makes your signal work better. (someone told me that in high school) and it seems to work. maybe the cell phone with the remote made the signal a little stronger, the guy really wasnt standing too far from the car and there was nothing in the way

Pointing the remote at your chin works, as you become an RF antena.
