Default If I Ever Catch That *%$#@*

Got back from a business trip last night, went to my car parked at terminal D, at DFW, and when I hit the alarm I KNEW something was wrong!!! Some(*&^@#$, broke into my car. They broke the passenger window, stole my radar detector, attempted to steal my Alpine 205 unit w/nav, but all that did was TOTALLY destory the dash, and since they could not get the Alpine unit out, they beat the crap out of it and it is totalled!!!

The DFW airport police, where not much help, they said "We can't watch all the parking spaces." Another car, a new Tahoe had the same thing done to it, and it was one row over from me.

I parked my car at 8:00AM on Monday and the note that the DFW police put on my car to tell me "It APPEARS that your vehicle has been broken into" was left at 10:15AM on MONDAY. My Viper alarm was wailing for 20 minutes and NO ONE called!!!!!!! The car was there two hours!!!!!!!!

I have been parking at DFW airport for years (259K miles last year alone) and
have NEVER had a problem, but I will NEVER park there again. Total estimate $2894.00 which includes a new Alpine unit!!! Yes insurance will cover everything, but my $1000 deductible.

IF I EVER CATCH THAT #@!&^%*^^!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sucks man... That's terrible that they would just destroy the dash because they couldn't steal the Alpine unit. **** them, I hope they get aids.

Sorry to hear about that.

The reality is that car alarms are a false sense of security. People spend money on car alarms when no one cares if the car alarm is going off.

It's so common place that poeple feel that they were duped if they look over at a car with a siren wailing away.

Again, sorry to hear about that.

damn, sorry to hear that but you should never leave your radar detector out/in your car/visible. i take mine wherever i go with me or store it away behind the seat so at least if a douchebag breaks into my car i'll know i didn't provoke it by having a $400 detector sitting out there in the open.

been there before. The only good alarms can do if it is a twoway and you are in range.

compustar chirps, turn green double in size and get out there!!! thats the only chance to stop stuff like this.

i dont even leave a quarter in plain view in my car, i have to many break ins over the years and i am paranoid.

This is why they're only "airport police". They said they can't watch every car- ok, fair enough if one car gets broken into, but 2 in the space of 1 row, that's rubbish. Get off your ***** and do your job!. So how many cars would have been broken into if at least 1 in each row did?
