Redlining Z...once a day?

You can redline it, just don't tell the stealership or Nissan about that if you ever have a problem. They will say that you caused the problem by redlining it. That is ridiculous, though, as Taurran mentioned, since that is the point at which the car was designed to rev at without causing a problem. They'll try to tell you that you pushed it beyond redline, but that is impossible without removing the limiter. If it did happen, then that would be the fault of the car for not working correctly.

I wasn't going to post anything on this subject because I didn't want to look stupid. But then I thought that maybe there are some other people with the same issue who are too scared to mention it. Soooo.. Bought my Z on Octber 27, 2007. Have yet to redLine or take it over 100 mph, why? Cuz I'm scared I will die... I drove a freakin' AT Integra for 7 years and now I have a MT Z... that's scarry shat!!!! But seriously all jokes aside, am i harming the engine by not driving agressively.. ??

It's fine to redline your engine once its properly warmed up. It's been mentioned here before I know, but basically dont rely on the coolant temp sensor, you want to go by the oil pressure. Your pressure should be at the 1/4th mark at idle once your engine is warmed up.
ZL1CIOUS, I don't think you can harm a engine by not driving aggressively from time to time, but your car probably wonders who the **** bought it. The engine probably thinks your a hair stylist

People always ask me to get on it at work as soon as I fire it up. I let the car warm up before it gets any WOT or anything over 3k. Most of the time, I redline the car once a week on my commute to and from work. Sometimes more. You probably won't get carbon build-up unless you drive like a granny. 20mph all the time.

Are you refering to bouncing the needle at redline? Or fully gassing your car to the apropriate shift point? I dont recomend studderboxing at redline but I dont think it harms much , unless your doing it every five minutes. Besides you bought a 30,000 sports car hit the gas... I wish i could say that to all Corvette owners , seriously.. Close to 500 horsepower and they all drive like grandmothers. Anyone with me?

Wow I actually had no idea that it says in the manual to redline your car! I mean I do it sometimes but I didn't think it would help keep my motor healthy. More reason to rev high
