Default Why so long?

Does anyone know how long it takes the boat that carries the Z's from Japan to wherever it docks? Where does it dock?

I was told my Z was made in May and is on the boat as we speak and It should arrive at the dealership on July 23rd.

I am jsut hoping it will come sooner, I don't want to wait a month for something I already paid for.

I was told that mine was supposed to arrive in Mid August. They called me last week and told me it should be here July 17th. They told me that they usually arrive 2 or 3 weeks early.

I wasn't supposed to get mine until May, but it came in 3 weeks early. So hopefully you won't have to wait too long.

Sherman: Yours and mine must be on the same boat.

Well this definately gets me more excited. If it came 2-3 weeks early I would be so freakin happy. The dealer did tell me they usually get them a week early, but not always the ones that come from Japan.

I CANNOT WAIT!

The original car I ordered, in september was going to come in anywhere from 3-5 weeks late. I figured this was ridiculous and got another Z from a dealership in Norfolk, (VA?) that was the same exact car. I don't think there are too many like mine...

Mine was over a month late. I was told they come in to San Fransisco. I was also told mine took longer because of the longshoreman strike.

A rule of thumb is one month is the order receiving/processing month, the next month is the "build month", and the next month allows 3 weeks for the boat and 1 week from the port to the dealer - hence the 3-months that a lot of people see.

Do some searches and you may be able to figure out which Hual boat your Z is on and its schedule to the nearest port.

How would I go about finding out what ship it's on? What would you search for?

And hopefully it still shouldn't take till the 23rd because it wasn't specially ordered for me, they had it on the list of cars they were already getting in. It was made in May so I pray it comes sooner than that.

If it comes later I'm gonna throw a major fit to the dealer cause I could have just waited for the 04's in that case.

Kind of funny, actually, because there is a dealer in KC that has your exact car. Lemans, Burnt Orange Touring with auto. Plus everythign and it's mother installed. Aero, Nav, plates, mats etc.

And, your car is almost exactly what I want, except I want Manual.
