I believe that the velocity has nothing to do with it. .the equalization of both sides is now free flow. .so no back psi is indicated for the engine to run at its peak power. .therefore the computer's adjusting accordingly and he's feeling a loss of power. .hence why all the exhaust have some type of back psi muffler design and they are not straight free low piping like he has now. .although he still has cats..

I may be wrong. .
easy way to fix your problem. .throw back on the old system. .

The velocity has everything to do with it... I really cannot put it any better than the article I already posted, read that, it should help you understand. I dont think you have read this thread, for one, you dont believe its exhaust velocity, and secondly, he posted he doesnt have his old system. Not tryin to be rude or anything, just read the article and/or thread. The dude already ****ed up his exhaust, dont make it worse by feeding him bad info lol.

Instead of continuing to throw money at it and guessing what might help why don't you go to the marketplace here and pick up a used catback exhaust that will definitely resolve the issue?

+1

While not the best exhaust, it cant be worse than stock. It could be another issue that is causing power loss.

interesting topic. I'm contemplating getting a Borla TD exhaust, but some people say you lose power with this set up compare to the stock one...who knows.

I don't get it........ Why don't people do baseline dynos before doing any sort of mod? I also don't get why anyone w/ a $30K car would try and do muffler shop custom exhaust when there are so many proven exhausts out there. I can understand people doing this back in '96 when there was barely any aftermarket support for imports. But it's 2008, w/ a multi billion dollar aftermarket.

Did the problem start immediately after modifying the exhaust or did it drive fine for any amount of time? This is a fairly important detail, because if it was fine before, then progressively started to worsen, its not the exhaust thats the problem.

well lets see here, you have a stock y pipe and still have the cats, get rid of cats jic y pipe and a single exhaust I guarantee youll like the sound more and have more power than you do now.
