Although I'm not fond of mag racing, it seems that when i compare the s2000 and 350z with friends, they recall the "coupe" test that was done in the past. Now that Nissan is offering the convertible, the S2000 gets a bit of a break, even though it does compete with the the 350z coupe. here are the results..
The article rated the s2000 a 10 in the following categories:
> Transmission
> Handling
> Value
> Fun To Drive
On the other end of the scale, the car scored a low 3 on 'Features and Amenities'...
For those of you so interested in numbers, here they are from the article:
> 0-60: 5.4 sec (The Z4 ripped off 5.3; 350Z did 5.5; Boxster 6.0; TT 6.9)
> 1/4 mile: 14.1@99mph (again, Z4 ahead slightly at 14.0 at 99mph; 350Z did 14.3@99mph; Boxster 14.6@98mph; TT 15.2@91mph)
To the point above, the Nissan Z-car it was rated against is the 350Z Touring, which is the drop-top roadster model...it came in 2nd place.

In BS Solo class in NEDiv, the S2k pretty much owns the class, partly because the drivers are good and have experience. But one of the instructors with a Honda told me he picked the car because he wanted to be able to win.
