OP is a complete douchebag.

You say you "love your ride". If you love it, why'd you plow into the guy putting your car at more risk of damage?

If someone walks towards my car and looks like they're pissed, I'm gonna get out as well and confront them, not turn and drive into them

Alright im not saying what he did was right; but to all of you that say you would get out of the car and beat the **** out of him, I got a dose of reality for you. You guys obviously dont live in certain cities like some of us. you can't do that **** out hear in LA. We invented road rage. if you watch the news in Los Angeles, people get shot just DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, RANDOMLY. You get out of the car you run the risk of going to jail or getting shot. Id be great if someone pisses me off and I could get out and beat the **** out of him. But unless you dont mind risking jail or grave, just DONT TELL HALF ASSED STORIES OP AND TELL THE ****ING TRUTH! YOU WERE DRIVING LIKE A ****ING DUMMY!

Am I gathering that what a lot of you are saying is that if in a situation where someone damages your car and assults you, you simply sit there and take it?

This is common law -

You can use self defense and defend yourself from attack if you “reasonably believe” that bodily injury is about to be immediately inflicted on you. Once you reasonably believe that bodily injury is about to be inflicted on you, you may use “all the force you believes “reasonably necessary” to prevent yourself from being injured. --See CALJIC 5.30

There is a common theme that runs throughout the law of self defense; that theme is “reasonableness.” For example “reasonably believes” or “reasonably necessary.” What this means is that most people, if they were in your shoes, would have done the same thing you did or thought the same thing you thought.

I don't believe this story.
And if it is true, then you're a fool.

Classy move to throw your Starbuck' drink in the man's window.

.

this is different from state to state. alot of states, require you to attempt a getaway before using any force. even inside your house, some states will require you to barracade yourself in your room if a burglar comes in. and only if he tries to break down your bedroom door, can you shoot him.

i dont know the laws in the state this guy was in. but if he had to back into the guy, to hit him. then he was going the wrong way to attempt a getaway.

in any sense, i dont know the whole story. so i dont have an opinion on the whole thing.

did u at least rev it up to 6500rpm and let him hear the wrath of the VQ before you ran him over? so many people here act like they would just let their car get damaged and drive off or wait for the cops while risking getting assaulted like the OP in this case...while I think you should have just driven off to avoid complete danger, sometimes people need to be taught a lesson.

Why are people getting so mad about this? The guy was attacking him and he was in danger. He didn't know what else this guy was going to do. What if the guy had a gun or a knife? He did the right thing by handling the situation as if the attacker did. He had to get out of there quick before something happened to him, and the attacker was blocking his only escape. He had to do what he had to do to ensure his safety. Now to brag about it and call it cool is another thing. But I'm on his side, if I felt my life was or could have been threatened, I would have done the same thing if it was the only way of getting away from him.

It's called self-defense. If you have good reason that someone is going to inflict injury or harm you, you have the right to defend yourself.

And right now, my position stands. If someone is coming at me, I WILL get out and wait for a sign of aggression. When I'm being threatened, I have temper problems and I will not stand there and be a victim. As for being shot... it doesn't scare me that much. If I had a wife/kids to worry about, I'd change my stance, but as of now, I'd fight back.

wow....you must be really good to be able to do 130 through traffic in Miami and attract no popos....

i could understand your reason for hitting the guy....but 130 through traffic (if this is all true to begin with)made me realize you're a douchebag after all.... if it isn't true...bigger bag of douche for you.
