Let me know when a stock Z hits 12's. Barring a really sh*tty driver, an LS2 GTO will tear up a 350Z. >'07's are the only Z's that stand any chance of beating one, considering both drivers are good, however, favor is in the GTO's corner for the win.

Have you even heard of LS1/2 motors?

Anytime ur in Vegas, we can take a ride. I'm only putting down 353/342 atm, so I can guess what the outcome would be. I have a buddy with an '02 ZO6 who could give you a better run though.

Yup, I hear on the streets that piston slaps are very common for those engines also.

GTO's look like a civic and a grand am had a love child...there's a reason they're "RARE"....FUGLY.

Might be fast, but its ugly. That's just my .02

I hear on the streets that just about all engines have piston slap to a degree or another. A sure sign of excessive piston slap would be if the motor consumes large amounts of oil...

Get the GTO....You get a backseat, LS2 power & reliability, and a sleeper...plus parts are going to be cheaper.

Or get the new G8, those look sick.

That's one of the places the LS1 and LS2 Excel. You can beat on them hard for years and years.

I wish I had the mentality to call a 5.7L beyond weak, but I'm still driving a truck that won't even get to 100mph in the 1/4 mile.
Just kidding of course, but yes, I would definitely get the 6L if I decided to buy the GTO.

The back seat is nice, but it's not a huge factor to me. I do know that the LS2 has gotten good reviews as of reliability and it obviously knows how to pick them up and put them down. I also like the fact that the GTO is a sleeper. The look of the Z may attract more chicks and such, but it will also attract more cops.

Nice car.

Thanks for your 2 cents.

These are all very helpful comments.

You'll enjoy either one, but the Z you'll enjoy longer.

I am not looking for bias responses, but I realize these are enviable. I have narrowed my choices down to these two ('03+ Z or '05+ GTO), but I have struggled over which I should get for about a year now.

I love the color of the Z called, "Lemans Sunset" and I am looking to spend about $20,000-$22,000, so this narrows me to either a 2003 or 2004 350Z.

I will not get the 5.7L GTO, so this narrows me to the 2005 or 2006 GTO.

I realize the "up's" and "down's" of both choices, but I am looking for honest and helpful replies only.

Here is what I have figured for each vehicle thus far:

350Z Pros:
More aggressive styling
Excellent handling
Lemans Sunset
"More attractive"
??

350Z Cons:
Not as rare as the goat
??

GTO Pros:
Stop light rumbling 6.0L
Rare
Somewhat faster 1/4 mile
Torque
Back seat
Sleeper
??

GTO Cons:
Does not handle as well as the Z
93 Octane (Not essential, but I would definitely run premium)
??

I don't want to spend too much time on this poll, so I am looking for you to fill in some of these pros and cons for me.

I have test driven a '04 LS1 GTO 6-Speed and loved it and I have also driven a '03 VQ35DE 350Z 6-speed. The only advice I can give myself is to test drive both the Z and the LS2 GTO in the same day and compare, but other than this, I am completely and utterly torn.

Let me know what you would do and why please.

I am 19 years of age if that is a factor to you. Thanks in advance guys. I am looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
