Woooo Hoooo FINALLY!!!
Just got an email from Zisme confirming my order::
order # is S261846
Vin#JN1AZ34DS3T1016??
Your vehicle is on the water right now and shows an estimated delivery date of October 1st. Do not hold me to this but we will probably get the vehicle to your dealer in September but until it hits the port here in the U.S. I cannot be sure.

Please do not email ZISME requesting info about your car.
That is not his job. I am sure Mike is extremely happy that ZISME went above and beyond his role. Put yourself in his position. I know a lot of people will think "Who is this guy to tell me what not to do?" Nobody. But I do know that ZISME has done a lot for this community and this is no way to repay him. I know everyone is getting anxious. If we keep going around the proper channels, we are going to burn so many bridges, Nissan will decide that it is not worth the hassle we put them through to give us these kind of opportunities. And, yes, the pre-order is an opportunity. They did not have to offer us the ability to buy a car made-to-order before anyone else. They also made efforts to make sure we didn't pay over MSRP. I am not saying this program has not been without flaws (I have experienced my fair share of them.) I just find it amazing how much people believe Nissan owes them. They don't owe us anything. "Our" cars aren't even our cars (yeah, yeah, I know, "signed buyers order" But does your's have a VIN on it. It's not binding without one. At least not in any time frame)
Again, PLEASE do not email ZISME. I know how tempting it is. Do I ever know it is tempting. Just say no.
Sorry for the rant.

Articfury,
Good point. I was already composing an email to ZISME in my head when I read your post. I don't have any right to make ZISME run around to cover for the inaction of an incompetent or disinterested dealer/salesman. I have dedicated a lot of time and attention to this car. I have been frustrated to the point of distraction several times, but I have not really lost anything. I will get my car. I will roast my dealer on the evaluation, then do some research on this site to find who I should use for service and then forget about all of the BS as I put a huge number on miles on my new Z.
When I pick my car up in Monterey, I will be in the middle of some of the most beautiful, twisty, roads in the US. Deciding when I have to stop driving south on Highway 1 and head back to San Francisco will be the biggest concern on my mind

Articfury,
I can understand your suggestion not to contact ZISME, and I think it is admirably that Pooh and NJZ had second thoughts about doing so.
But, I actually think the three of you (you included) should not be too reluctant to send him off an email, as none of you have received build/delivery dates from your dealers.
If you have heeded ZISME's recent advice, and contacted your dealers yet again, and directed them to their reports, and after all that, if you do not have this information, I do not think ZISME would be oppossed to getting a simple email from you, and assisting you at his soonest conveniance. There have been numerous posts at other forums, where someone posts "ZISME, Help!", and he responds with 'send me your info'. He seems to do so willingly, as long as the request is justified.
I do not think that people who already have this info should waste ZISME's time, wanting more specific info at this point.
Having said that, if you are OK to continue waiting, then there is no need to contact him now. Also, I have emailed ZISME a link to the soup, and have asked him to assist those people that do not have build/delivery months from their dealer. Irregardless from my request, I have heard from others that ZISME has contacted them directly, without them requesting, and offering assistance, just from his review of posts at this forum.
So if you can wait, he may contact you first. But I honestly believe that he would much rather make sure we all have this basic information, then have us upset that we can't get it.
Again, this would only apply to people who do not have their build/delivery months, who have made a concerted effort to get this info from their dealers, and I also think who ordered before say, May.

Jeff-
First, I didn't mean to imply that I didn't have my build/delivery dates. My car is scheduled for an Aug build/October delivery. Technically, based on your criteria of having ordered before May, I wouldn't be eligilble. My dealer didn't fax any of the orders until 5/29. That is when he understood that he was supposed to fax them in. I FedEx'd, next day delivery, my order to him on 1/17. This is the part that frustrated me.
ZISME has provided a lot of help to quite a few people, as you have stated. But him asking someone to forward him their info, or him using the info in a post, to help them out is one thing. But, a large volume of unsolicited emails, would, I imagine, get old quick. If ZISME wants to help, let him do so in his own way. Don't force him into a situation where he feels he has to do it.
For example, I can see the following scenario occuring. People start emailing him for help. Due to his other obligations, which appear to be considerable, ZISME doesn't respond to everyone in a couple of days. Someone will come here and start complaining about how ZISME hasn't done anything. And how ZISME doesn't care about us buyers. yada yada yada You know this will happen. Again, I ask you to put yourself in his position. If he wants to help, let him do so on his own terms.
