Default Finally got myself a Z! gear lever question

GreetinZ,

After looking at a lot of cars for a long time... I finally bought a black 05 350Z with almost 30000mls on it. I'm very excited about it!!
I looked for one online and found it in Germany at a Nissan dealership. Be doing the paperwork this week (bank, insurance, plates..) and pick it up next Saturday..I'll post some pics when I get it.

Question:
When on the test drive I noticed the gear lever vibrates a little, even when in neutral, hope this isn't something to worry about??

Spete

*shrugs*

Mine vibrates a little, but my transmission is fine. I guess it depends on how "little" it vibrates.

This is common on almost all manual vehicles.

You should see what my F550 does in neutral.

mine only vibrates in high rpm when letting gas go to slow down in 3rd and 4th. what is it really though? I was thinking might be the shaft going in and out of balance at certain speeds with in itself???

Yep,completely normal. My Z32 does it. My friend`s old Mustang GT did it as well. It`s because the shifter is basically directly linked to the tranny, instead of being linked by long cables as on a front wheel drive manual tranny car.

Thumbs down

Greetings from Puerto Rico, dude! Down here, not only we DO NOT have an Autobahn, but our politicians make sure that Front End Shop owners become
rich!!! Our roads, streets AND freeways are d-i-s-a-s-t-r-o-u-s! So, be glad
you're out there and enjoy those German roads in your "Z"!!!
