I went looking to upgrade my 350Z. I looked at some Roadsters and 08/07 Z33 coupes I like the looks of the interior and of course the body was awesome as 350z are. Damn they wanted a lot for the Zs they had in stock, of course they sold out of the base models for $27,600.

I also looked at a 2003 Boxster 75k miles on it for $29,900 I was going to test drive it . I'm 6'3" 225lbs size 13D shoes. Guess what I couldn't place my feet on the brakes and the clucht at the same time, the clucht felt pretty smooth but unless I could adjust it out I couldn't drive the Porsche. Neither trunk lets you look at the mid-engine readily and anyway the 350Z is a better fit .

My 05 Redline Coupe and bank account sure felt and looked good after leaving the stealership.

 

I like boxsters, but 30K is too much. And for that price, it better be a boxster S.

In that price range, you're better off with a '01-02 911 or a M3.

 

+1 M3, more power, cheaper labor than the boxter or boxster S

I went to the dealership this past weekend looking at the new 08 Z's. Salesman told me they wouldnt test drive them without first running the numbers. I looked at him and walked away. Went over to the used car section since I was already there. They had an '04 touring that I took out for a quick ride (never driven a Z before). I really liked it, till I found out what they were trying to sell it for. I laughed at the sales manager when he said 29k. Laughed him all the way down to 22k before leaving.

Moral of the story - dealers suck


ps. Z > boxter ...even the Z roadster looks better. Havent driven a boxter though
