As for the plastic catching your foot, I know what you are talking about... catches in the toe area, right? Happened to me wearing work/dress shoes at first; eventually I started placing my foot lower on the pedal, which was the simple fix to the issue; no need to remove any panels.

And yes, it catches my toes... few times yesterday I would over-rev my friends car thinking that my foot is off of the clutch when I accelerate... Yea, I'll just have to get used to using different part of my foot.
