is it LEGAL to drive around WITHOUT the hood on? lol just wondering

no, an engine must be enclosed. might vary by state, but I had a friend with a Beetle with a baja conversion and they had to wrap chicken wire around the back of it.

you could always run chicken wire across it.

I saw a civic the other day driving without a hood or front bumper. Go figure.

i also saw a civic with a hideously molded body kit that reminded me of a garbage pail kid, doesn't mean it's right

that problem is when i want to pick up a hood.. u know that Z has awfully small @ss trunk.. thinkin about takin it off and just drive to the destination without it lol

might as well remove both door and roof for extra air ventilation that Z owners dont have to cool off the body heat

depending on how far the place is where your getting your hood, i'd say F it and just drive it real quick with out the hood. Otherwise get a friend with a truck to either follow you and throw your hood in his bed, or just have him go with you to pick up the new one and install it at home.

oh yeah, I was in NO way discouraging you from driving without a hood, actually the complete opposite. I want you to drive around like that and fully endorse this platform.

do it, be awesome as you know you can be. take pictures. post them.

The hood does play a role in wind resistence and keeping the motor clean.
