Tuesday. April 8th. At 2:30 I got out of a meeting with the city on trying to close a bid. Walk out with the manufacturer reps and as I was dropping them off at the hotel, I was thinking that it was too nice out to ignore. It was "Z" day. The day that the plates go from storage to registered. 8 degrees Centrigrade. Dry roads. Sun out. Kind of like that day where you smell it and know that you aren't risking salt, too much dust and dirt, or puddles everywhere. Still some snow around but it won't last long. "Z" day.
Get back with the sticker, put it on, start it up (which I had done many times over the winter) and back it out of the garage. Dusty but still sexy with that great exhaust note, enhanced by Fast Intentions. Forgot how fun it was.
Smooth, growing smoother as old habits come back. Like riding a bike when you haven't for 5 months. Doesn't take long. Second nature. Steering came next, locking in how it feels andd kicking the rust off. Big smile on my face.
Had to run an errand....car still dirty. Drives me crazy as I know that I have to clean her off for the true effect to show through.
Damn my car looks sexy clean. Went home, hand wash with a soft glove and some maguires in water, and then hose off lightly. Not the right temperature for wax or treatment, but still is sealed up nicely from the year before. Glow is there, rims done, tires, and glass. Now it feels right...well after I vacuum out the inside.
Then I got to go out and enjoy, and seeing people look or point to their kids as they drive. Love it.
Sucks losing it for 5 months.
Awesome having a new car for 7.
