Default Speed Sensor in On Board Computer

Does anyone know if the 350Z will have a speed sensing audio alarm to warn you when you are exceeding a preset speed. If youve ever driven in a BMW M3 you will know hwat i mean .. if you go faster then the pre-set speed limit a little sound will come on in the cabin to notify you ..

i cant afford any tickets in this car, but sometimes when im on the freeway my foot turns into lead and I might find myself in trouble with the law .. maybe i should just use the cruise control to avoid potential issues ..

one thing i hate though these days is that even if your going 70mph in a 65mph zone people tailgate you and if you go on the far right lane people are going like 55mph ! i wish they had a real "65mph lane"

I went 73mph once in a 65mph zone (with the flow of traffic) and a cop ticketed me as I came around a curve.. ever since then i fear exceeding 65mph even by a little bit

Isn't that what cruise control is for?

No.

It only displays:

Speed, Temperature, Distance to Empty, Average MPG, Average Speed, Current Speed, Stop Watch, Trip Odometer, Tire Pressure (if so equiped), Up Shift Indicator (for manual).

I suggest everone download the owners manual here:

It does have a collision alarm. It sounds very much like crumpling metal.

No one goes 65 mph down here in San Jose. Everyone flying by at 75 mph or more.

350zpower,
This is not for everyone but you could relatively easily tap into the LCD display and get that information. I was already thinking it would be cool to have a controller auto rotate throught the screens and put the whole mess of information up on a video screen. It would obviously not be up-to-the-second accurate but you could do a few tricks. Like reading the Average MPG, Average Speed, and Tire Pressure less often and have a selector for which output is the realtime one.

In your specific case I think you should just use the cruise control. Thats what I do and have never got a speeding ticket. I am more of and acceleration guy than a top speed guy.

73 in a 65 zone? That's really bush league. I mean it's not even 10 mph over. That's really bad luck for you because as you see people are doing 85 in 65 zone all the time.

BTW if you are doing 70 in a 65 zone you have no buisness in the left lane. That is for 80-85 mph at least where I'm from. Sorry.

Cruise control is great if you want to set it at like 75 mph, it can help you remember not to go too fast.
