Default 350Z in Colorado-Is it possible?

Hey everyone, im knew to the forum and this is my first post. So i graduate college in 3 weeks and already have a high paying job setup and i start soon after graduation. So obviously i have been wanting a Z for a VERY long time so its the first thing im going to buy (have 10k to put down) and Want to get a 2005 or newer.

I live in Denver, Colorado where we do get a lot of snow. Most of the time its not to bad but occasionaly it can be horrible and we can get dumped in with about a foot. It does snow a lot in the winter but sometimes its just a couple inches. Where im living is only a 10 minute drive to my work ( like a few miles away) i REALLY want a Z but my parents think its a waste of money and i wont be able to do anything with it in the winter. I dont have room to buy a beater car (no parking) I dont mine spending $1k on winter tires but just wanted to hear your opinion or if i would be better off getting like an AWD audi TT.

I live in the denver metro and have had my Z since May 04.

That being said I drove my Z in the snow the first year and I would not wish that on my worst enemy.

The next year I bought a jeep for a DD because in reality I can only drive my Z for 6 months of the year. Even with a good pair a snows it's still no 4wd.

So yeah, get a Z if you can live with driving it for only half the year. otherwise like mentioned above a STI or EVO can make it through the year, albeit you'll be getting that bish covered with the magnesium chloride that they dump on the roads.

Yeah, unless you feel like being a drift king for about half the year, I don't reccommend it. I've had a few close calls this last winter (well actually it snowed today ), but I have other modes of transportation if it gets bad enough. I just happened to have the urge to take out a few times to see how it would react to a couple inches, and Anyways, just my .02 but if you don't want to listen you live and you learn right . Good luck

owning a Z in colorado owns, you can get it dyno'd and claim an additional 100whp from altitude corrections.

Get a Denver Mero bus pass & tell the guys at work you have a Z car, they are installing the twins now, but they will be done soon.

Save your money for a year, buy a condo or a home (in Longmont, for example) and buy a Z and keep the beater!

What previous vehicles have you owned or driven in the snow? No offense, but if you are as young and unsure as you sound maybe you shouldn't buy a RWD car for your first big purchase? In reality though you are smart enough to buy snow tires and you are only going 10 miles usually. Only you can answer this for yourself. The car will be just fine unless there is still 12" of snow on the road when you go to leave in the morning. But then most people aren't going to be going anywhere for awhile either are they? Will you feel comfortable driving it and know how to handle the physics of a RWD car when the rear end starts moving around on you?

People would not ask this same question every year if the fools that drive without snow tires would keep to themselves. What did you expect????
