Default Z smashed by bike

Hi guys this is my first thread and i wish it could be a happier one. The other night i drive my z over to my friends apartment in Liverpool and parked no more than 20 feet from his door. Its not really a bad area so I did feel safe parking my car there. I go outside after and start getting in my car and I notice a bicycle laying in front of it. I went up to move it and I noticed 2 nasty dents with big scratches running down my hood and I almost flipped. I was hoping somebody just ran into it and was knocked out in the bushes or something but after further inspection I found another spot on the hatch where they threw it on my rear window and dragged it down across the hatch and a little on my rear bumper. I have no clue why they decided to use a bicycle to scratch my car when there are so many other ways that are much more inconspicuous. I cant believe anybody would have the ***** to do that so close to my friends apartment, and theyre lucky I didnt catch them because I dont know if I could have controlled myself from wrapping the bike around their neck.

Sorry i meant to take pics of the damage but I already took it to the body shop for a price quote. Im hoping that the insurance will pay for a new hood instead of repairing the smashed one and I hope they do a good job matching the ultra yellow paint because it seems like it would be a tough color to get right.

WTF!! Let me get this straight, they took the time to put a bike on your hatch, walk around to the side of your car, dragged it all the way to the hood & then onto the road? Nobody saw the douchebag doing it? Time to break out the CSI kit & get fingerprints!! Hope your car comes out ok.

I have read dozens of vandalism posts but “bicycle vandalism” is a first.

I've never heard of somebody committing vandalism with a bicycle, but that sure sounds bad. All I can say is good luck getting it resolved. I know I wouldn't be able to control my anger were that to happen to me. Hopefully karma is a ***** to whoever did this; leaving the bike there seems like it was just to taunt too.

Yea Ive never seen anybody go to town on a car with a bicycle before but at least they didnt use the cinder block that was about 5 feet away. They actually slid it from the rear window down to the back and then looks like they just took it around and slammed it on my hood.

Sounds rough. Sorry to hear this. Yellow is a color that isn't very difficult to match.

Okay, I don't quite have my Z yet, but I've been reading these forums for months. Is Z vandalism super common? It seems like it.

I’ve owned cars for more than 30 years. My first vandalism was the 350Z. In fact 3 times in 4 years. Coincidence?

I just talked to the insurance adjuster, he said they are covering me for 4000 dollars worth of damage. They are supposed to replace the hood, replace the rear window, repaint the hatch and rear bumper, install a new 3m kit, and install new tint to the rear window.

Sorry to read this. Worst my car has been vandalized was a hater threw a piece of pickle out of a Wendy's sandwhich on my rear hatch. Wish I would have seen the d-bag, he was mean mugging when I pulled up. He must have done it on his way out-loser was eating in his car alone. I laughed though....
