The traction control is very touchy, but nice in the rain. The LSD works but is inferior to clutched systems. For OEM I'm not gonna complain though.

So the OEM VLSD sounds to me something that is important. I am almost convinced as to the Enthusiast but my question is how intrusive is the TC system? I noticed a member posted that it is touchy, but its not one of those TCS that when you turn them off, they really dont turn off (sort of like BMW's). ..?

enthusiast, you will regret not having those options for less than 1k, and 3k in miles difference? most people put that many miles on the first month they get their Z!

I personally garage my Z for the winter. Although if I were in Columbus I might have tried to make due with snow tires since its much flatter there than here in Cincy. But then again I know people in cincy that do it.

defintely get the enthusiast if you plan on driving it year round though.

the TCS is a little touchy, it will react if the tires lose traction. but when you take it off, it is off. I can spin through 1st and into 2nd without any reaction from the traction control when its off.

Seems like most of the 07-08 Z owners are choosing the base model.

03-06 the base seemed to be very un-popular.

go with the 07 enth. for 1k more than a base you can get peace of mind incase you ever get into a bad situation, esp during the winter if your not using winter tires, tcs can really help you out, and in the summer, just turn it off and you can really drive the car.

LOL, When I got my Enthusiast Z last year I was saved by the TCS. The first night (purchased in February 2007) I went driving - the temperature was below 30 degrees on stock tires (of course, I the car was still new, a couple of hours old). I accelerated on the highway and felt the rear about to break loose, but the TCS automatically cut the power and the SLIP warning light came on. After I realized what happened and what could have happened, I took it easy and decided to "learn the car."

The second incident was when I decided to drive in the snow (while still stock)...I didn't know any better, and thank goodness I ddn't get too far. The TCS saved me once again....From both incidents I learned all about High Performance Summer Tires and cold weather! A big no no!! But, overall, the TCS on the Enthusiast is the way to go! Otherwise, I'd be another member posting "I totaled my Z in less than 4 hours"!

Thanks for all the personal input it really helped me make the decision. I am going to go ahead and pickup the Z from Carmax and within the next two weeks (it has to be shipped) I should be a proud owner!!
