Default Base Vs. Enthusiast??

Well everyone, I have the opportunity to pickup a 2007 Enth. or Base 350Z from Carmax. Both are black, Enth. has 6k miles for 26k and Base has 3k miles for 25k. My only question is the LSD worth it in terms of handling? Also I will be daily driving the car so is the traction control system a must for living in the midwest when weather can get questionable. And no I am not going to buy a daily driver so please just help me out with input from your own experience. I do not care about the aluminum pedals or the steering wheel controls...so my main concern is the traction items asked above; and searching I have done so please do not advise me like a noob, I am looking for personal input on my specific questions. Thank you in advance and hope to join the community ASAP.

Adam

Get the enthusiast. Under normal driving conditions you'd probably get no difference. but i've had the traction control save my *** a couple times in the rain when I wasnt expecting it to.

Lol^^^, common sense is not even close to being the same as personal experience and considering I have never owned a Z before, I figured I would ask. .. but clearly that was too hard for you to understand.

Thanks for the input so far.

Not sure what you want to hear. You don’t need LSD or TCS or ABS or any of that stuff. But members choose other models over the Base by 10 to 1.

For sure get the Enthusiast model over the Base. You will also get cruise control with it The Base model is lighter than the Enthusiast, but not by very much. I think its probably less than 10 lbs or so.

at that price and the fact that you need to ask means you should go with the enthusiast. the base model is only for people who KNOW they want it. if you're deciding between the two you're almost always better off getting the enthusiast.

No the standard base cars have never came with TC or cruise. I really just want to know how useful the TC is in the snow (as I will be driving it in a couple inches but with winter tires) and how useful the LSD is in terms of road racing (I could just buy a Cusco or Nismo later on.) I think at this point it sounds as if the Enthusiast will be better for resale as it is more popular?

LSD is one of those things you never know you really needed, till some thing happens. You should definitely get it and use it. I have felt mine kick it in several times in the rain when I might have been going to fast, or hit a patch of water on the road that was higher then I thought it was. Another thing to consider is the type of tires you will have on the car. If you have summer tires they slip more in the rain then other tires, which can make you slide off of the road in wet or bad road condition (snow, gravel, etc.)

"The Enthusiast model adds HomeLink® Universal Transceiver, cruise control, Traction Control System (TCS), Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD), aluminum pedals, and auto dimming rearview mirror. "

[Newer models also get audio controls on the wheel.]
