Default Ever Read Car Magazine?

Hmm, just got a copy of Car magazine from Tower Records. They had a picture of the Track LeMans on the cover so I decided to get it. Car is a British based magazine but this was the US special. Well here is a quote I found quite interesting.
We drove the top-of-the-line track model which is equipped with 18-inch wheels and Bridgestone Potenza tyres, Brembo brakes with golden calipers, taughter springs and dampers, subtle spolers, a limited slip differential and electronic stability control (VDC)
So is this true? I know people have been saying that all models come with same suspension. But do you think they set it different for the track model? Plus this is a recent test drive, because they have the specs all correct.

BTW its a very very long review but they seem to love it.

i love CAR. I got that issue a month ago, had B.Dalton put it aside for me when they got in the shipment. I would imagine that the suspension and all for the track model is tighter then say the base model. car companies do this a lot. example, the RSX type S has a sport suspension while the base RSX does have as a tight a suspension (i have the base )

The suspension issue has been covered before.

They probably assumed it did, since it's the top of the line go-fast model. ZISME has stated that they all have the same susp.

Car magazine really is a great magazine, a bit expensive, but they cover everything. Its not like reading this car is great. Next, that car is ok. Next, that car sucks don't get it. They really take the effort to write detailed stories with great pictures. But getting the magazine could get expensive after a while.

Did you read the article about the VW Phaeton?? They pulled no punches. It was refreshing to read a very good review about the Z in the same magazine that ripped a $70,000 car. It gave their Z review much more credibility than the one in C&D. Its definitely a quality magazine.

i think the best article (beside the Z) was with the two guys who took a SMART car from New York to LA. It was funny reading about the peolpe they met in the south.

I also like the car review in the back. Some of there comments are very funny. if i remember correctly....Toyota Echo, quite possibly the most useless vehicle..or something like that.

I did not see the American version until the other day, but it is different than the Euro version, the Euro version (purchased in Germany) has a BMW 1 series on the cover, but the same artical on the LeMans Z....

Does anyone know what was on the cover of the EVO that featured the Z??? The Euro version has the TVR Tuscan R on the cover.... pretty funky car (mostly in a good way), but I like the regular Tuscan better.

jran76,

The EVO mag I bought in California also has the Tuscan R on the cover. Didn't say anything about being any different than the Euro edition. It was cool to see the advertisements for all the different cars sold in Europe in both EVO and CAR. Sometimes it seems like the choices in the US are quite limited.

I found the EVO review of the 350Z disappointing. They just used press photos, and didn't tell you anything about the car you couldn't have read elsewhere. Highly un-EVO-like.

But EVO is the best car mag in the world. Their full review will be awesome.

Evo will do a full review when the car is introduced in England, CAR actually came to the US for a press release (maybe on the same trip as the Smart car). And I agree EVo is the best mag out there, I look foward to their review also.

I thought that article was pretty funny also, not acurate, but a take on how europeans's view us. I thought the same things they said when I first saw the smart car in Germany (and there are quite a few out there, like any other car)....
