yeah.. stupid, I know. I can afford it, it's just that I don't want to. With these gas prices, it cuts deeper into my spending money.

Wow. Considering that gas wasn't that much lower 3 months ago and your payments+insurance couldn't possibly have, it appears you did pretty much zero homework before buying the car.

gas prices are not expected to 5$ they are expected to 4$. not mentioning like 3 big oil deposits just found. it will be at a stand still for a while.

I might be switching over to a Civic Hybrid but only if the numbers are right.

The Z has long been my attainable dream car and it pains me to do it but one's gotta do what one's gotta do...
You shouldn't have bought one to begin with if you can't afford to maintain it.

Congrats to the OP for being the sucker to absorb the initial depreciation, whoever buys your car used should send you a thank you card.

I really dont know what all the complaining is about, 25mpg mixed I think is pretty reasonable.

I think the initial cost of the civic hybrid, or any other hybrid for that fact will negate any cost benefits you get from less fill ups.

Exactly. Even if chickenboy uses a whole tank a week, and prices do rise to $5/gal, it's still only an increase of around $70 a month or so. Compared to the other costs associated with owning this car (payments / insurance / maintenance / tires / depreciation), it's not that big of a deal.

Sounds like the OP overstretched himself a bit - hope you manage to work things out, cos having to sell your Z for a civic hybrid will be painful
