Best car(s) you've driven

Interesting question/thread…
I’m old and have owned and/or driven a lot of great cars (Audi, Jaguar, MG, Triumph, Porsche. etc.).
My last purchase was a 350z. Why? Because this is a great car in its stock configuration, but it provides a great “canvas” for customization. Customizing your car is really fun because each mod you do provides the feeling of driving a new car. That is something you can do with the Z, but it's not option with most of the "exotics."
Examples:
My point is that you can buy your Z and make it just about anything you want. That is why this car is fun to own. It’s much easier to add custom features to the Z than most other cars (and this is certainly the case with exotics which are not as easily modified).

Customizing your car is really fun because each mod you do provides the feeling of driving a new car. That is something you can do with the Z, but it's not option with most of the "exotics."
Examples:
- A/V: The multiple and large cubby spaces behind the seats and in the dash allow fitting a plethora of audio and visual components. You can even easily do a CarPC in this car. The coupe has many options for mounting SubWs. If you want to go full-out, install the Kenwood KOS system so that you can add and adapt any A/V component to create a terrific CES.
- Tires and Wheels: The Z accommodates many tire and wheel setups. Different tires and wheel setups make the car handle any way you want.
- Suspension: There are many choices for suspension upgrades. You can do a drop, add better sways, and a lot of other things to make the car drive and handle better.
- Engine: There are several performance choices here. You can build a real beast.
- Nismo parts: This is an easy and reliable way to upgrade your Z.
My point is that you can buy your Z and make it just about anything you want. That is why this car is fun to own. It’s much easier to add custom features to the Z than most other cars (and this is certainly the case with exotics which are not as easily modified).

I will have to say out all the sports cars that I have driven, the Z has the best balance of price/power/handling and reliability. I love all the cars mentioned above but I could not daily drive most of them w/ out expensive maintenance. I agree with you Spike100. +1

1.)My Z
2.)Friends E46 M3 (SMG)
3.) My Toyomoto S/C IS300
4.) Cousins 92 300zx TT
5.) Friends 3000GT VR-4
6.) Friends 05 Cobra. I didn't drive this car only rode in it. Honestly it scares me shitless. His Cobra is putting down close to 600rwhp. He spent 10k on the suspension alone(subframe connectors, airlockers, Fearless Gear rear end, etc..)His car will literally lift off the ground(minimal)..but still.

owned:
1968 Mustang 289
1975 Triumph
1978 VW Scirocco
1975 Porsche 914 2.0
1982 Porsche 924 Turbo
1984 Porsche 944
1986 Porsche 944
1990 300ZX
1992 RX-7 twin turbo
1995 Lexus SC 300 5 speed
2006 350Z
driven:
too many to list, but NSX is a top favorite, as was the Porsche 928 S4. I still love driving the 350Z the most. In spite of it's little flaws (tire feathering, transmission issues, oil consumption years), Nissan really got the handling right on this one. Assuming my V2 continues to hold up, I will be putting new shoes on her soon!

I notice your list has Porsche models:
1975 Porsche 914 2.0
1982 Porsche 924 Turbo
1984 Porsche 944
1986 Porsche 944
I had one of these and drove the others you list, and never liked any of them. Obviously you did like these models (you drove them over a 10 year period).
