Dear CSF: Yours is an opinion--which I respect. But, I'm talking 'bout s-t-a-t-i-s-t-i-c-s! NOT ONE POST of a Zed owner with an auto tranny, complaining
about it. NOT ONE, kid! ON THE OTHER hand...read along these threads 'bout

Get the roadster, nothing better than top down on a nice day or night. You can really hear the engine and exhaust with the top down. Makes the driving pleasure even better.

i dont know why everyone says the MT is tought in these cars. go drive a cobra and feel the difference... its actually a very forgiving clutch if youre comparing to a number of other cars.
the nice thing about the high engagement point, (and most people dont realize this ive noticed from reading posts about speed shifting), is that you dont have to depress the clutch all the way to the floor to throw the next gear. just get past the firm part and when it gets soft you can stop and throw the next gear. try this, i guarantee your shifts will improve by 110%: when ready to shift, as you let off the gas pull the shifter out of the current gear (you do not need the clutch to accomplish this, you really dont even need it at all to shift), and start to depress the clutch. while your foot is moving to engage the clutch, go ahead and throw the next gear. as soon as the shifter is in place pull off the clutch and hit the gas.
alot of people feel that you must depress the clutch to pull it out of gear as well, but in fact you dont.

I'd die if I had to drive AT. I don't care if MT's clunky or not. I'd love to have a convertible Z if it was a hard top convertible. I drove a Miata for 15 years. Went through 3 roofs. Big drag, but yes, I'm sure when the tops down it's f'n awesome in the Z. Does ultimately look sexier than coupe when it's down, but coup=better compared to Convertible with the roof up. (IMHO)
