Default 350Z Sales Figures dropping?

Anybody have more recent figures? February 2008 is the most recent I could find. Looks like sales are dropping.

The economy isn't doing so hot. A lot of people are finding better things to spend their money on.

If the economy isn't doing so hot then why are G Coupe sales up 79%? Your reasoning makes no sense whatsoever.

Yes, I wonder why, if someone were to make the decision to invest in a sporty vehicle, they would pick a 4 seater over a 2 seater.

The G is a more practical luxury looking family type vehicle. It's easy to see why people would put their money on that as opposed to a Z.

jclearly actually has a point

Car and house sales are in the gutter right now and (smart) people involved with selling them are dropping prices due to a rut in our economy.

Which is why I just bought my 350Z before all of those $600 and $1200 check go out to everyone and the economy gets the 'boost' Bush is hoping for.

Not saying its going to fix our economy by any means, but the time to buy a house or car is definitely now.

Nissan had better figure out why 350Z sales have fallen every year or there will be no 370Z.

Hopefully the 370z will clearly show an upgrade in power and performance.

I think one of the problems I'm seeing is a lot of "outsiders" don't understand that the 07+ models have the HR engine, which has noticeable performance increase over previous models.

People probably figure it's the same old Z and are waiting for an upgrade.

You can't hardly find new Zs in this area. There are a few, but noone is carrying them. Hard to sell 'em when they don't have 'em. 4 dealerships had a total of 11 Zs.

Cause to everyone its been the same car since 2003. The redesign will boost sales again, cause americans seem to need the latest thing. An 08 that looks like an 03 is not the latest thing on the market.

Their numbers are still a heckuva lot better then the 300ZX (Z32).

1990 ...39,104
1991 ...18,534
1992 ...7,172
1993 ...12,374
1994 ...5,415
1995 ...3,628
1996 ...2,629

I think if they can average a 1,000 a month in sales they'll still be kept in production.

When I said family, I really just meant practical, more reasonable. You can fit more than 2 people in it.

You know what I mean. If you want to try to argue with me about it, by all means, please continue.

If by G coupe there also including the G37 then that might explain that.

Nissan will probably get the same jump with the 370Z.

i think you hit the nail on the head. G sales had fallen off until the G37 refresh. all things being equal, the Z is selling OK considering the economy and that there has been no major changes in this model for 5 years.

Any car that has gone through primarily evolutionary changes over a 5 year period is going to drop in sales, particularly if it is a specialty car like a sports car. The buyer market is a limited one to begin with.

The sales decline is natural. The market is saturated with buyers of the 350Z. Now that a new model is coming, that number will jump then slowly decline over the years.

I doubt there's much to worry regarding Z sales since they share a lot with the G, the helps make the "economy of scale" that keeps the price low and helps justify the continued production. If you believe what the Nissan execs have to say, the Z is here to stay for a long time to come.

I believe a lot of them regret discontinuing the Z back in the 90s but the general condition of the company at that time had more to do with the demise of the 300ZX than anything else.

It is simple as others as already pointed out. The design came out in 2003, if you were to buy a new car would you want to buy a car with a 2003 or 2008 design?
