Sorry everyone Blasian has been too busy to post lately, so I'll update everyone.
The motor swap was done Monday at Regal Nissan. It took all of 7 hours to do the swap (there was some complication with broken bolts).
Blasian has been driving it nearly non stop to get past his break in period.
Then he street raced a RSX-S and lost horribly.
Then a cat jumped out in front of him, got sucked into his intake, threw his plenum and cracked his heads. Now hes getting some parts overnighted from Japan from Justin Timberlake, and should be making 50 pounds of boost by the end of december.

Thanks for wasting your time reading this post.

Gentlemen,

At this point hopefully Blasian completed his motor swap. As much as I hate to do this I'm withdrawing my name from this opportunity.

The good news is I traded in my 03 for an 08 Touring yesterday for an absolutely unbelievable price that I just couldn't pass up.

Jeremy, I sent you a PM. Hopefully you have an alternate name to pick in my place.

Congratulations to all of you that received a new engine!!

Edit: 48 hours in...The 08 is pretty damn nice...7500 redline, LOTS of power on the top end and ALOT smoother.

Sorry guys, I forgot to post that I still haven't gotten it done yet. I'm calling Stef today as he requested Saturday... still no idea where the hell the gasket kit is

I'll call him in an hour or two so he can check on it. If it's there I will probably be going later this week to get it done if time permits. If not, the weekend after. Classes are almost finish so it would be perfect.

I believe LG has already gotten his motor swapped out.

Update... I should be heading to Atlanta tomorrow night or Wednesday morning to get the Z taken care of. It's been a long wait and Stef has been nothing but nice about it and said they will perform fuel hose recall for me because I've never had it taken care of.

I'm pretty damn excited

Well guys... I'm back from the swap and I'll post my review.

Stef calls me Monday and tells me the last part should be in Wednesday so I could start planning a date to bring it in. He also tells me that my Z has never had the fuel hose recall taken care of so they would take care of that too.

Take a two hour nap Tuesday night to leave at midnight so I'd around in Atlanta around 8-9 but I didn't around until 10ish because of traffic. I asked Stef if I could leave my things in my car because my friend didn't get off of work until 3PM and he said that's fine and offered the shuttle service to a mall so I could kill some time. I did this and had my friend pick me up and bring me to the dealership to pick up my things. Stef gives me the keys and reminds me to bring the keys back to him (lol I'd probably forget). It looked like my car hadn't been worked on which kind of scared me because I was trying to leave at a decent time Friday. I asked him what the expected time to finish would be and he said Friday around noon.

Thursday morning I received a call from the technician working on my car asking where the keys were for my Ray's lugs because he didn't have any of the shop at the time. I didn't think about leaving those in sight but I told him where they were and that was that. I called Stef Thursday afternoon to see if everything was going smoothly and he said they were putting it back together and it should be finished Friday by noon.

I'd also like to thank Chris (CRIDDA) for giving me a ride to the dealership (also visited FP while I was around ) and we arrived around noonish. Stef said they were driving my car around and that they normally drive it for around an hour to make sure everything is okay. He said they would also wash it for me which I declined because it would get dirty on the way home.

Finally I see my car and Stef starts printing the paperwork and I sign and I'm on my way out. He told me some problems that they ran into in the process, some I was aware of and some that I wasn't. Stayed and chit chat, asked a few questions and I was out of the dealership around 2ish.

The new motor is very smooth. I haven't pushed it hard but Stef said there isn't really a break-in period so that I'd be fine and don't have to worry about any restrictions. The service was awesome and Stef was nothing but nice and patient. Still not sure why the part took so long to come in but it worked out in my favor because I'll have a daily soon and that's less driving for the Z. So far the motor has about 700 miles on it.

So the free motor, recall taken care of, along with fixing a few other things they ran into that I wasn't aware of, and could have gotten a car wash... I'd say it was pretty damn awesome service.

True story... I was joking around with Jason333 because I have his track wheels and TPMS sensors as he has my other ones currently and how I hate seeing the indicator light and how I'd have them program them since my wheels aren't finished yet. Well, I noticed about 30 minutes on the road that I didn't have the PSI light anymore... they actually programmed his sensors to my Z

I guess Jason will never get his wheels back now.

Greg, glad to see that everything worked out.

Thumbs up

Great news, Greg. I'm glad you are finally finished and had a smooth swap.

And, thanks for the write up. Regal Nissan and Stef's service are second to none.

This swap doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Why don't they just buy some old used 350z? Seems like it would be cheaper and less of a hassle. I guess they just want to be *** backwards.

They are spending a whole lot of money in switching out engines. Add in the liability of not putting in the new engine right.

And what do they do with rest of the car? swap an engine in it and re-sell it? That's even more of a hassle.
