WHY ??? Our cars are only tuned for 91 , anything more than that you actually lose power.

Hi Guys,

WE have RON ratings in the EU which is essentially about 5 points higher than your Octane rateins..( 91/92 RON here will be your regular 87)

in the UK...most pumps deliver regular unleaded as 95RON (91 octane)
Shell V power here is 98 RON (93 octane) we have some pumps delivering 99 RON and in mainland EU pumps deliver 100RON.

What I can vouch for having used all of the above ratings...(99RON pulls a bit harder, smoother engine, better exhaust note under load) ...use the highest octane rating you can get...and ethanol mix is better...we have started using E85 fuel here in some places.....Saabs and VOLVO's are already out with ethanol/petrol engines....

Who said ethanol was bad for the car? For older vehicles it may start to destroy seals n what not, but for the newer vehicles it's like putting injection cleaner in the car daily, actually helps eliminate carbon build up.
