Don't go drive an Infiniti G35

I made that mistake today. Now I want a Z even more than ever. I can just imagine what that FM chassis is like with a few hundred less pounds, a few inches shorter wheelbase, a few dozen more ponies under the hood and a 6MT.
And I only drove the sedan. Coupes won't be available until November. The drive-by-wire throttle is awesome. Even the automatic transmission is pretty cool. Unfortunately I just did a quick drive around some neighborhood streets behind the dealerships so I couldn't air it out. But the throttle response was awesome for what appears to be a very pedestrian little sedan.
For us poor mortals who can't do anything but stare at this forum on our computer screen until we get our Z, this is the closest thing to driving one we can experience right now.
I have to say that if I don't have a Z by November and I can get my hands on a G35 coupe, it will be hard to resist. I think I'm going to see if I can get my mother-in-law to trade in her Mercedes for a G35 now, so I can drive one until my Z comes in.
