Mossy Nissan Kearny Mesa (SD)
Ok, I just got off the phone with my salesguy. Actually, I feel much better now. It turns out they just delivered their first Z yesterday, as others posted.
I called him up to inquire about the PDI process. What made me feel good was the following stuff he told me:
- They're only designating one PDI guy for all 350Z's
- He is the only one allowed to touch or drive any of the cars
- He is only allowed to drive the car to the gas station, to put Premium gas in
- Nobody else, not even the customer's sales advisor, is allowed near the car
- They are not installing front license plate holders on any cars
- No dealer add-ons will be applied
That's pretty much everything on droidekaus's list posted here. The only remaining thing was the "no machine wash" issue, and he said no problem. (Although, he was a little hesitant, saying "You realize the car's going to be REALLY dirty, don't you?")
So, anyways I thought I'd post what I found out. I still think overall the dealership is a bit hapless, but at least they're honestly and courteously hapless!!

Oooops, just remembered one BAD thing:
You only have 24 hours to pickup your car, or else they'll sell it to somebody else.
Even my salesguy thought this kinda sucked, but he said half a dozen people come by daily, and it's the owner's policy, so get your butt down there when you get the call...

I agree with droid, that 24 hour pickup time is ********.
Funny how Mossy didn't mention that a couple of weeks ago when I was out there asking about my order. I have to imagine the El Cajon location has the same policy.
I guess I may have to pay for my car before it comes in, since I'm going to be out of town for a week in late September. Of course, mine probably won't be here by then anyways, so it doesn't matter.
August production, think it's been built yet?

Yeah, it's total BS. I'm definitely financing thru an outside lender so I can just show up w/ a check and no hassle. I guess that's one advantage to paying full MSRP!
It's getting more and more likely... I'm supposedly August production as well... kinda exciting thinking our cars may already have rolled off the assembly line!
