Question Hypothetically speaking...

Hey all
hypothetically speaking - IF Nissan did make a turbo 350 Z would u trade in ur rides for one?
i have always told myself never trade in a brand new car for the same make and model just because i wanted different options/accessories. but honestly, i would be the first one at the dealership ready to part with my normally aspirated Z in hopes of a turbo.
and i say this not being a turbo lover, or ever owning a turbo. but i would really love to own the turbo Z and would pay the extra 10 grand or so for the chance
and yes i know aftermarket turbos are available as we speak, but i would rather have a factory turbo from Nissan.
i love my Z to death as it sits, but just imagine an additional 100 horses or so!
so what do yall think?

no, look at the math, if I sold my car tomarrow, Id likely lose atleast 5grand on it, so there goes 5 grand right there. then consider same exact car plus turbo would be about 5000 more on the low side(probably 7-10k) thats 10,000$ Im losing, not to mention paying tax twice, which is 2 grand or so.

I could get greddy TT that would likely put out more power for 7grand or so, and be very very happy. of course 7grand w/o warrenty and 10grand w/ sounds close, but its most likely not gonna be a 5000$ option, most likely a 10,000$ option, so now your 15000 down, plus the 2500 tax, 17500$ down for less hp than 7000$ could get you.

nah, no thanks. factory turbos are just not for me.

Default Nope...

First, I've never "trusted" turbos for reliability. (...please, no flames you TTers out there!)

Secondly, if I had 100 more horses in that car I'd kill myself within a week

Let's just relax and enjoy the car as it is for awhile, it's not even a year old yet, itzGman!!

Peace

oh believe me i love it as it sits now
in fact this is my third Z, my dad lemme drive his 82 280Z and then his 89 300Z during my early years
but now he drives a 03 vette and i just hate knowing he can sit there with a donut in his hand and spank me while im busting my *** thru all the gears - doh
i guess its just a dream anyway, since Nissan hasnt spoken a word on a future turbo
hope that new supra doesnt have a turbo either!

Well don't get your hopes up. Nissan is just fine selling 35,000 Z's a year. Plus remember why the Z32 and the RX7 and the Supra and the 3000GT all failed? They cost too much.

Turbo = complex = expensive

I don't see it ever happening. If it does it's bad business.
