Default Just picked up my new Z

I finally got it in my posession after 40 days of waiting for it to come in. Blue enthusiast. It only had 5 miles on it. Now I just need to learn how to drive a stick better. I stalled 3 times already.

Is there some trick to this clutch? It seems to catch pretty high and is heavy to push and hold down compared to most. I need to get the hang of it real quick.

Congrats, did you trade in the Eclipse?
This was my first manual car and took about 3 weeks for me to learn The clutch, finally after 2500 miles is starting to loosen up.

Congrats Judge,

I'll have to wait until october till i get the one i ordered.

What beside the handling of the clutch is the thing you like the best so far ?.
It always takes some time to get used to having so many bhp in your new car.
Drive safetly and ENJOY !!!.

Regards,
Theo

The clutch doesn't loosen up, your leg just gets stronger

Yup traded the eclipse for the Z. I am happy with my decision.

I really like how the power is there at every RPM range in any gear. Plus how you can be doing 30 in any gear you want practically.

I do notice the clunking tranny noise when shifting, but nothing else so far.

The clutch pedal seems excessively heavy to me, and my right leg is definately gonna be twice the size of my right in a few months.

I'm getting use to the clutch, but I think you should be able to release it once it starts to grab a little faster than you have to.

I am so in love with this car, can't wait to get to modding it. Wheels first!

Of course there is some variation car-to-car, but I have found that this car is much easier to drive hard than it is to drive easy. In other words, give it some gas and go for it!

Congrats! It's definitely no Honda clutch, but you will get the hang of it. This clutch is not stiff at all when compared to teh Subaru WRX. When you get the hang of the standard a bit better, go test drive a WRX or STi. It's like you have to push the clutch pedal through the floor.

Anyway good luck with the new car. Any mods in mind yet?

your definately right about giving it gas. I seem to shift better if I give it more gas.

Question is stalling it bad? if so how bad? What part does it wear most, or have the most chance of ****in up?

I stalled about 10 times tonight in 60 miles. I just don't want to hurt my baby. you understand.

Stalling won't hurt your Zzzzzz. About the only thing I can think of that might hurt the zzzz is grinding the tranny by not having the clutch in. You might be costing your clutch a little life if you ride it to much but not a big deal.
