for a little more description, if your VIN ends with a number 16000+ (I think thats the number) its a 04.5, if its below that its an 04.
I'm not sure about how many zeros follow the 16, but I know its 16000, or 1600 or soemthing like that.

Here's the only REAL way to tell....
2004 Nissan 350Z Coupe/Roadster (Coupe VINs up to D*4T160000,E*4T060000) (Roadster VINs from D*4T102001 to D*4T110000 & from A*4T002001 to A*4T010000)
2004.5 Nissan 350Z Coupe/Roadster (Coupe VINs from D*4T160001, E*4T060001) ( Roadster VINs from D*4T110001, A*4T010001)
If the letter before the 6 digit serial number is "M" instead of "T", it's a 2004.5 because it was produced at the Oppama plant.

mine is a M but the number is below 160001, its D44M102363(last 10). i have the knee pads also? so im a 2004.5 or 2004?

BTW, thanks to DavesZ#3 for that bit about the "M" instead of the "T". Somehow I missed that when I was looking at the FAQs.
