Hit and Run...How Bad is it???
being the nice boyfriend I am, I went to return 27 Dresses for my girlfriend at a RedBox in a supermarket...
and I come out to this...
Do you think I will need a new bumper cover or can it be fixed w/o? and how much will it run me roughly?
I'm not even gonna go through insurance, I hope whoever did this gets what is coming to them

Oh man, that sucks.
It looks like a trailer hitch got you.
I would expect that could be repaired and re-sprayed.
I will throw out a SWAG and say $1000.00 to be good as new.

I had to get a new rear bumper. It cost around 630 for everything. I did not have any other damage, just the bumper. Make sure you go somewhere that offers a lifetime warranty. Good luck

I would do as the previos poster suggested and see if they may have video of the hit and run. Not only will he have to pay for the damage, but he will be charged for the offense and his insurance will go up.
As for the damage to your vehicle your pretty screwed. You can't do a quick patch on that really and expect it to last. A fiber glass patch might hold for a little while but its a pain to work with and finish it out to look nice and match.
I say new bumper ( look around in junk yards, ebay, these forums) or get a bumper sticker ya like and patch it that way.
I looked at this picture again and you might think of using this to maybe mod your car with some reverse high beam lights or something, get creative maybe you can make something work back thier and be different.

It would be hard to judge without looking behing the plastic and styro. But yeah gotta agree with the others most likely a new bumper is in order. As it doesnt take much to take em out.

A shop will rather give you a new cover.

my thing with insurance is, it just went up for a speeding ticket, i was doing 87 mph on the turnpike and it's 65 mph
in PA that is excessive speeding and a major violation which just jacked my insurance rates so i'm kinda iffy on contacting my insurance company
I'm going see what happens today...maybe this is my excuse to purchase a body kit

Rear fascia for my '04 ran me $800 (that was installed & paint-matched).
But OP, tell the truth... You are making up the girlfriend part to avoid the embarrassment of having to admit you rented 27 Dresses and watched it by yourself?

If you are certain you want a new bumper than go for it and buy a new bumper//bodykit whichever you prefer. If you have some spare time on your hands i would keep your old rear and look up in the DIY section for body damage, the hardest part is going to be the painting which you can have a shop do for you worst case scenario. if it comes out decent sell the old bumper on ebay and there goes some of your expenses for your new bumper =). if not ship it to me I'm dying to try some DIY body work.
btw sorry about the hit and run man, this world is truly going to ****.
