350z vs audi tt
hey guys i was just wondering what some of your opinions are on the audi tt vs the 350z the two cars are pretty close to me i like them both. both are great cars. i have always been a z fan. i own a 93 300zx at the moment and fixin to get a new car so what do you ppl think. i believe im going to get a z but just wanted to hear some of your opinions
TT = basicly build on GTI/Rabbit chassis, compact econobox turned sports car (FWD !!! turned AWD)
Z = build on a platform designed for sports cars, performance sedans (RWD platform, sometimes using ATTESA AWD)
You do the math

Me being a previous owner of a 2002 Audi TT 1.8t I didn't really enjoy it. The car was very easy to mod to get power, I believe you can run up to 21psi with stock internals. But remember maintance with european cars are PITA, if you want the TT get a AWD coupe for sure, either the 225hp or 3.2L.
But my opinion isget the 350z, because it handles much better, you can't get that sexy sound from the VQ, (actually the 3.2L TT's sound pretty good). and it's RWD!!!! I love my Z wayy more...
Are you planning on getting a new audi TT? cause I like those ones.
The 3.0L Z4's are something to look at too. I love those!

im just having a real hard time deciding. i have driven both( and many other every day because i detail cars and deliver them) and i like both. like i said its just a hard time deciding because i like both cars, and yes i like the bmws too, but around here they are sold way to high. well my wife is about to buy a new car too, maybe i can talk her into an audi( cause then i get both
, also another thing is i dont like to get a car that everyone else has around town, there is i dont know how many 350z's but one audi, but yet i am the only one with a 300zx which i would like to keep if it was twinturbo but for the price it costs to do that i can buy a newer faster car. man i just dnno thanks though

i was reading a artical the other day about the new audi TT thats coming out.. if i remember right the hp rating is around 260hp.. now thats with 2.0 turbo.. thats pretty good if you ask me.. also moding will be cheaper i think since its already turbo'd.. compared to the 350z you can even lose hp by adding a intake lol..

Anyways, get a Z. The newest TTs are nice, but not nearly quick enough, and are extremely overpriced. The Audi TT-S, which will boast a 265HP engine will surely be nice, but even more overpriced. If you're thinking about a 1st gen TT, then this isn't even a competition, the Z destroys it in nearly every respect.

And to the post above, I believe it's the TT that's using the Golf GTI Chassis. It has the same engine and stuff. Plus VW owns Audi. I think they would rather use a chassis from a cheaper car to make a more expensive one.

Is it good, or is it bad? I just like the idea of FM platform more

the 2.0 inline 4 engine only puts out 200 hp/207 torque. the HP you listed is for the 3.2L V6 (which is not turbo). Nothelle had modified the audi TT and upped the 2.0 power to 320, then added turbos to the 3.2 V6 which upped that to 520 hp

I have a few buddies with TT's and they are nice cars. I'm a VAG fan for sure, I have had a GTI (86, 91 and 95) A4, Boxster S and a few other cars, my wife had a beatle, cabrio x2 etc etc.. So we have had a lot of Audi/VW cars and one Porsche, I do love them.
The TT is a nice car, quick, good looking and AWD if you live in an area that gets snow. I generally don't take my buddies for rides in my car however cause they always end up feeling bad about their cars performance. The AWD really limits fun that you get in a RWD car, plus the performnace doesn't really compare stock to stock or lightly modded to lightly modded. The TT can't keep up, can't power slide the rear end around corners, do burn outs or any other general meyham that makes a RWD car a lot of fun.
For an everyday driver in an area that gets snow and you drive year round, the TT is a good choice. If you want a full sports car, the Z is the choice. Really it's not a great comparison cause Audi builds the TT with other things in mind other than just a sports car.

Depends on what you want... If you want a stylish car you can have a little fun with get the TT if you realy like it. If you want a proper sports car to have loads of fun with and possibly even track the car, get the Z.
You are probably doing this anyway since you looked here, but go to the forums for the TT. Before I got my Z, I was looking at the TT as well. I would have gone with the Z anyway, but what really turned me off from the TT was all the owners saying the same thing: "I love my TT- when it's not in the shop!" It was disgusting to see that same thing over and over and over. It seemed like everyone who owned one said it was either in the shop every 2-3 months and/or for a month or 2 at a time. Go with the Z!!!
i do believe i going to go with the z. since i am big fan of the z's and have some history with them since i do own a 300zx until the kid comes and pays me so thanks for the advice on the audi
