Default Whats up with the engine bay??

I got my Silverstone a couple of weeks ago, and saw that the engine bay wasnt painted. Is that the way it is on all the Z's?Mine is just a shiney grey primer color. I havent looked in any other Z's so I dont know. I guess they think they save some money by not painting in there. Lame! Just wondering....

no, the engine bay is supposed to be painted. in fact, yours probably is painted but either the lighting or something was off when you checked. a mistake like that would never make it out of the factory. reply back with a pic of your engine bay if you get the chance.

oops, i was wrong. i have a chrome silver and just went to check and make sure the engine bay was painted, and it wasnt. both the silver colors (silverstone and chrome silver) have the same color engine bay (the flat grey primer color). however, every other color has a body matched engine bay. i'd say that the silverstone color is a little to dark to even remotely match the engine bay, but the cs is almost matches the engine bay.

My bay doesn't have exterior quality paint either. It's just a black primer-like coat.

Just another advantage of having the Chrome Silver! Everything on the car looks like it's meant to match that color, even the engine bay "primer."

Your engine bay matches your paint pretty well? Mine is black so obviously it matches well but it is not of the same finish.

That really sucks for silverstone owners though. Their bays don't match that well if the paint is CS in color. Oh well. Not my problem.
