2007 is not a rev-up. The 05 Anny, and 06 350z was. 07 has the HR engine, which isn't considered a REV-UP.

If you are lean on cash get the 2003 Tracker or Enthusaist are probably a little faster then my 05 Touring because its lighter not a bad car if you got the upgraded Manual transmission. Exterior wise they are almost the same but interior is better in the 06 and up. And the rev up engine is faster. The 03-05 are 5.6 - 5.8 0-60 mines is plenty fast but some like to mod theris and make them ape sh%t fast. A stock 03-06 can't run with 5.0 or 4.9 STis or Evos. Some say at 80+ this even out on the Hiway.

Either one is a nice Car.

'07 Touring has bigger stock brakes compared to '03-'05 Touring models but '03 Track has Brembos. Brembos are better than stock brakes.

If given a choice between '03 Track and '07 Touring, and if you have a limited budget, go with the '03 Track -- HANDS DOWN! As others mentioned, tire feathering is not a major issue. Wheel alignment for less than $100 will fix that.

And if you feel the need for more juice at a later time, SC or TT it and you'll gain much more horsepower than the 20hp difference between the '03 & '07 engines, and for a lot less cost than purchasing a new '07 model.

Brembos are only better on the track not the street Ed. You won't be able to tell a difference between the stock brakes and Brembos on the street no matter how hard you push the brakes. I agree with the rest.

But since the 03 has Brembos anyways, yea jump on that over just standard brakes.

Since you don't know know what the BRAKES are for, the difference doesnt matter. Its also not much of a difference using them on the track.

Personally the 07 is a much better motor and that would be the reason i would go with it. BTW i own an 03

Actually there is a huge difference on the track vs the stock brakes.

Recall on the slave cylinder for the clutch. The older slave cylinder would cause the clutch pedal to stick to the floor/not spring back up under hard starts/launches.

Also, to whoever posted earlier, 30-40k price listed is a wide range listed. I got mine new OTD for 31k (07 enthusiast). 07 FTW. I've driven 05's and 06's and the HR is just something else completely.

To the OP, all I can say is that maybe the 07 you test drove was a dud b/c if you really can't feel the difference then something is wrong (with you or the car)

For everyone saying they got an 07 for about 30k that's why i said 30-40k because the GT and Nismo version (compareable to the 03 track: rays, brembo's, ect..) go for 35k+ and I've even seen some dealerships want 50k for a nismo 350z after tax

I love my 03 Track.

75k on the original tranny no issues. it's notchy, but is fine.
i don't have the tire feathering issue, i am currently sucking about 25k miles out of my KDW's on the front. no abnormal wear. (unbelievable huh!)
window motors are fine (but i do have the snail streak down them in my tint)
i already had my fuel sending units replaced (this is a known but not as common issue on all years)

and who ever said that brake pads cost $300 is nuts.
I have Brembos and got front and rear pads for $120. Project Mu pads.

It sounds like you have your heart set on the 03.

I had an 04.5, and it seemed to have better handling feedback, but overall the 07 handles better, due to larger wheels and tires, I had the 17's on the 04.5.

Power wise, the 07 is beyond what my 04.5 made with mods. Either way you will be happy.

For what it's worth, my 04.5 had the feathering issue, and my 07 has been aligned 3 times, and still has feathering issues.

if you get an 07 get the nismo version cuz it has a stich weld chassis ... that means mucho stiffer.... but you should get an 03 track.

Ohhh yes, I forgot about that, as my '07 was outside of the recall range

07 has better (beefier) stock internals so it can handle boost/spray much better then previous years. Faster stock, updated interior, nice stock rims, more reliable engine= Sucess. Investing in a car that other people have probably beat the **** out of and is no longer under warantee=FAIL. Only choose the 03 if your only focus is price. Other then price 07>03 all day everyday. Close thread/
BTW dont post opinions from your idiot friends whom obviously has never even been in a Z let alone drive one to the limits.

LOL. Agree. If he was here I would have loved the debate between him and you guys. BTW he's got 05 M3 so all of you must agree unless you got heavily moded Z he'll eat you for breakfast anyway. He races his on track sometimes. But anway.

03 that i wanted got sold right before my eyes. Same day i decided i wanted it but maybe that's for a better cause I looked closer at 06 and 07 and in

06 i like the look much better, meaning front spoilers, rims, rev engine, better seat and interior.
07 would actaully be perfect with G35 engine and dual intakes.

Do does dual intakes make a difference at all ? When chaning those dual intakes how much hp difference will that add ???

How much does it cost to repaint the whole car? Is the paint as quality from factory ? Is it worth it?
I found one but not the color i want. Any thoughts on that ?

Anyone with 06 and 07 if you guys can list what defects you know of those cars have. I also notice IL is ****ing overpriced state so most likely i will travel. I found one state that sells Z cheap. Not sure why.

I'd hope BBK would be better than stock...lol. Thats just a given and you really can't compare that.

You plan to mod your car?
Can you afford the price difference?
What is insurance rates between the two?

Personally, I'd pick an 07. Also, with the new 370Z coming, you may want to wait on the 07 and the 03.
