Default Anyone else "babying" their new Z?

I saw this thread where a noob was asking about shift points, etc, basically wanting to "baby" his new Z.
I think "babying" a new car is admirable. Here is my reply:

What is wrong with "babying" your Z?
I like to watch the auto auctions in HD on either one of my two wide screen HD home theater setups - two rooms - two big screens - and I see lovely cars sold for big bucks. Guess what? None of these cars were "driven hard" or "driven like you stole em".
I think that being gratefull for what you have is admirable. Don't tear it up. Sure, Z's are fast, but that does not make you mean you have to destory it to prove it will go fast.
The more grateful you are for what you have - the more God will give you to be grateful for.
Anyone else here proud of their new Z (even new to you) and taking care of it? Last time I checked, new cars cost money, and tearing up your new ride for some pubescent, hormonal reason seems - ludicrous to me!
Anyone else with me?
Love to you all!

You could have replied to the appropriate thread instead of creating a new one.

cars like the Z are made to be driven. that being said my car is not a garage queen and never will be. to say that those cars in those auctions like mecum were not driven hard is totally false. those cars were mostly owned by enthusiasts or restored from a previous state. to just "baby" a sports car is pure BS. you want to "baby" a car, go buy yourself a lexus or soem other luxury car, not a sports car.

now go take your diaper off and drive that sucker

I think these threads are kind of funny. Drive the car however you want to. We all bought the Z for similiar reasons. If you want baby yours or beat the chit out of it, I don't care. Have fun and remember most have warranties anyways.

I believe in respecting a vehicle, but that doesn't mean you can't have some spirited driving ever now and then.

Enjoy it..Its a sports car. Drive it like its a sports car. Its what it was made for. I go WOT everyday in my caddy. And ive been doing that ever since i got it. It runs just as good as when i got it. I just make sure the engine is warm and then i just romp on it!

The only thing to ''baby'' a car that really needs to be done is:

Wash/wax
Check the fluids
change the fluids/filters
check and replace the air filter(or clean and reoil it) CAI owners..
change Plugs/plug wires
Do that and your car will continue to run good. Unless its a complete pile of ****. And Z's arent piles of ****.

If you baby the engine you will also have more carbon buildup. Blow that **** out, if anything...

Drive the car within its limits.

"Babying" comes in the form of doing maintenance per schedules and keeping it clean & shinny.
